Why dedicate my time if I can lose all my XP with a death penalty?

"

You sound like someone who dies way to often and instead of self reflecting on why you died ( build, gear, gameplay) you just wanna blame everyone else but yourself...which I bet any amount of money you do the same thing in every aspect of your life.

If you are 91 you get something around 2-3% per map and maps take some time to clear. So the 10% loss is a serious time investment. On top of that the game wants to be pretty and show all the fency effects, so the screen is oversaturated half of the time and the important effects are not visible enough. On top of that many of these effects are made in a way that you cant react in time anyways. Plus the devs where even to lazy in PoE to simply add a death recap and tell ppl what killed them in the first place so they get at least a hint.
I'm starting to think the ones who are snowflakes are the ones defending this bad design, as if the removal of all these tryhard mechanics will invalidate their whole meaning in life.
Honestly? If you want difficulty just play hardcore, cuz these dated mechanics are just that, DATED

Indeed.

It won't, exp penalty will most likely be changed to only apply after lvl90. I very much look forward to this change that will be welcome by the majority of players.
I'd think 10% is rather light.
Especially since the less they make death matter the more tempting it would be to just balance the game (or not balance it) around that and leave HC players to eat dirt.
I get that you are losing hours of progress, but the very highest levels in the game aren't meant to be a given for everyone, and you are meant to respect the game mechanics and spec around defenses and play appropriately to get there.

I do get that the game isn't whatsoever balanced to that degree yet, but we're playing a beta. I half think ggg shouldn't have released this for another couple months, but they probably benefit a lot from the feedback for getting it balanced to that point.

Yes... the ones doing the whining are definitely the strongmen in this thread...

You keep saying this, but provide zero proof that it is true. Perhaps this time you'll provide a link to where GGG has stated this?

Not whining. Providing valuable feedback which is necessary during this EA period in order to make the game actually good. Removing all death penalties wouldn't affect how you play or enjoy the game, it wouldn't subtract from it in any way. In fact it would make the game more fun. And if you want some kind of "challenge" then hc ssf is always a mode you can choose to play in.

I'm wayyyy too lazy to look for whatever interview video it is. It's one of them, it was stated that they wanted to do this. It's gonna happen. And if it doesn't then whatever the game will just be bad for months or years until GGG stop tripling down on "The Vision". Doesn't really matter.
