They are talking about a third option but it could just as easily be heist or something else that people never really played.
We have to wait and see
The third trial is probably going to be ToTA.

If you listen to the story at the end of act3, we know we are going to the karui home. It is likely that the next trial is placed there. Chances are high its ToTA.

That is to say, all the three trials are going to be annoying.

I don't care what they do as long as I never have to do the Trials again, ever. Most irritating, anti-fun shit in the game by a mile. InB4 "skill issue", I've done them just fine but it's just unnecessarily frustrating to the point of anti-fun and makes me not even want to play. I don't buy games to do chores that suck the fun out of my life. Make it optional, remove honor, take it out of the game, whatever. I don't care which just don't make me suffer through this crap TWICE every time I want to start another character, pretty please with a cherry on top.

Gotta say I never played it but also never heard anything good

Play poe1 if thats what you want.

That's just it. As a sequel it should be superior as a game but it's not. It's substantially worse than poe1 in every way and this is the place to give the feedback to improve it.

no....no its not worse. Go play POE 1

The trials are part of PoE 1 tho... what are you on about?

game is effectively PoE 1 remastered + remake. sorry to break your trolling streak...

You get into an early access game, people give feedback about what they dislike in the game, and you (for some reason) are trying to invalidate feedback...

You're being a bozo. stop it. get some help.

This is a sequel in early access. Not a different game. Go enjoy your broken content while we help to fix it for you and make it better for you. Remember poe1 was in development for 13 odd years and changing with feedback the whole time. Bye again

thats funny cause the people who created the game made it very clear this was not a sequel to POE 1 and that it will be nothing like poe 1...crazy how for months they told us that and somehow you think it is...strange.

Yea they wanted to do a large league and decided it was too much so they made a sequel. I've seen the interviews. We are here to try improve the game. Troll elsewhere

imagine making second game, then making it the same as your first, good business choice. specially when you intend to support the first one.

you are straight wrong, if poe 2 ends up poe 1 whats the point hmm. and it has been clear it would not be the that way, its targeted at a different audience with some overlap, thats been clear for a long time, i like what it is now, if i wanted second monitor game content id play an idle game, thats what poe 1 has become. your take is entirely a matter of opinion and one reaking of entitlement, dam devs build the game i want. dam everyone else i dont care.

i like it, and so do many others

Trials are overtuned garbage. Lab is 1000000000x more fun and at least doable by the average build no matter what archetype you are. Sekhemas forces ranged builds and is bad for any close-quarters melee one, that's a fact. And Ultimatum is just an overtuned mess, because it's a mechanic copied over from endgame maps into a campaign in PoE 2. It makes no sense at all.

Pull the trials back, actually develop a good system for ascending and just put in some quests/lab to give people their ascendancy points so they can have fun in this game maybe.

yet to encounter an issue cept my own impatience or skill in trials, sorry but not my experiences. felt tuned good to me, as melee.

lab was mindless and boring. ive done it for 6000 hours of poe1, im over it, whether its good or bad i dont want it for poe 2.

there is a legit reason they are keeping poe1. its not just a cop out meme, legit poe2 is not to be poe 1, if it does then jhust delete poe 1 and be done with it, the goal is to make something different, appealing to different ppl. so far, the trials have been the most fun part. and yes i failed a few. no good game has you win on the first try for anything of note...

Sorry but PoE 2 becomes PoE 1 in endgame. The meta is builds that clear screens yet again, and builds can oneshot bosses. If you aren't playing the meta then you're just intentionally playing the game slower and less efficiently which is every player's choice if they want to do that or not.

The 2 games will have alternating league cycles seperated by 1-2 months so both audiences can play them if they want to, this was said in an interview already.

This "PoE 2 is not PoE 1" argument is getting stale real fast. Then they shouldn't have called it that, a sequel builds upon and improves the first game usually. Why do you think its the same world of Wraeclast? Why do you think we have gems, same skill tree,6 classes from PoE 1 then? Ascendancies? Orbs as currency?

If it really "wasn't PoE 1" it would have none of the systems of it and be a completely different IP. Yet it's not.

I don't know what the devs want to make this game, but currently players are only gravitating towards OP meta builds and the only fun they can derive from endgame is playing a PoE 1-style build that zooms and destroys multiple screens per second. Those are just facts. Nobody wants to be as weak and slow as in act 1 during maps, slowly RP walking to a white mob to auto-attack it and deal 10% of it hp lmao, this is an ARPG and the core of this genre is getting more loot to get stronger so you can get loot faster. It's the natural progression, if they wanted to make something different then pick a different genre altogether.
