Some people may dislike the Lab but it was really unique and waaay less RNG and build bricking than PoE 2 Trials.

No, i like the trials, they are fun.

The trials would be fine, if they were balanced for PoE 2s mechanics and defensives. The reality is they are not if anything they need to rework them to be more in line with PoE2s design philosophy as we don't have ungodly tank builds and aura monsters like we had in PoE1.

again, sorry, not been my experience. i think i went one time and realise yea nah i lack some damage here, left, spent some currency and upped my weaponed and returned. i think ive lost a cpl others to some rng forcing me into a room that is bad for the build, but guess what, i WANT that, thats the challange, just like crafing is, manipulating rng to our favour, but sometimes, no matter what, we still dont hit the roll. thats what its all about, if i could win every time no matter the choices where is the fun in that ?
I haven't even read the post but yes. I'll take labyrinth over these shoehorned in poe1 league mechanics that nobody liked any day. Couple that with the fact that Izaro is the most likeable NPC in the entire game and I can't help but agree.

I think it would be a cool idea to add the Labyrinth in some form as an additional option/avenue to ascend

And likely it would be after slogging through the traps and get to Izaro instead of combat he presents you with a choice of Ultimatum or Sanctum run to get your points.
+1

In one hand surety and in the other doubt

Yep. I still can't forgive myself for killing poor Argus

Sekhemas forces ranged builds and is bad for any close-quarters melee one, that's a fact.

Depending on the penalties you get, the mods on the rares and the rooms you have to do, it's bad for ranged builds as well. It's all down to this stupid "honor" system that's completely against the core principle of the game, plus some of the mods totally break builds if you happen to get them.

What's funny is that they wanted something similar to a roguelike and replaced Lab with this.

But LAB IS the roguelike experience, just better balanced.

If you fail the LAB(which takes a lot of time to accomplish) you lose and have to start all over again.

LAB is simply a better roguelike experience than Sanctum
