So much hate for this game from "fans"
I have never seen haters enjoy the downfall of a product as much as "supporters" of the studio, who constantly brag about how much money they whaled (and who ostracise others for not "supporting" the studio as much as they do), do

" It's the toxic side of entitlement, and probably one of the reasons they helped push GGG's hope for change into a new game, rather having to deal with a bunch of hateful ingrates (see reddit PoE2) who would expertly oppose every proposed change in PoE1 as they're currently doing with the EA of PoE2. Sure, some have supported the studio with massive amounts of micro transactions over the years. Sure, they helped sustain the product and the company. Sure, they know PoE1 much more than humanely acceptable. Still - They didn't buy a share of the company, let alone a majority in it, yet behave like it. Seeing this I can't help but admit that GGG was right in their decision to make PoE2 a different game, with different aims, different audience, and different balances. And leave PoE1 to those who care to stay in that zone (I could bear to get in myself) they they know, enjoy and support. I hope with all my heart that the company will NOT be bent and swayed by the pile of posts saying "vet here with 9939k hours in PoE1 telling you how much PoE2 is not what I like since it's different from PoE1 and it's not finished..... Duh". |

" They don't enjoy the downfall ; they imagine it. The game is great and doing great. They are just frustrated entitled haters that think they are god like players and get their expectations destroyed by reality when playing a somewhat punishing video game, claiming the game is bad, bugged, or unbalanced, stealing their money and time ; while they just play it badly, wrongly, or while thinking it should work like another different game. And as they get crushed, they come crying that something is wrong with the product they bought, while in fact, that's only their perception and ego complaining through victimhood. I just hope GGG doesn't mistake it for valuable feedback as it just a small but loud vocal minority of whiners that will never be satisfied by anything else than a "YOU WIN" trophy. |

Welcome to 2025 internet : entitled Karens throwing a hissy fit because how dare GGG release this early access free product that does not go 100% my way , right now . They got the mental and emotional capabilities of an aborted jellyfish .

It's more disappointment than hate. Almost everything in PoE 2 is a downgrade from PoE 1 at the moment. If the new PoE 2 players gave PoE 1 a shot they would be blown away by how good it is by comparison. People want to be sucked into PoE 2 but don't feel the desire to grind.

People are so emotionally invested into PoE, that it's hard to accept that PoE 2 is a different beast. I personally enjoy PoE2 way more than PoE (and I have 2500 hours in PoE).
I've worked in mental healtcare and the response from people on this forum to PoE2 is similar to those that have severe anxiety. They're lashing out because they're afraid. I think they're fundamentaly afraid that PoE2 will be more succesful commercially and it will be the downfall of PoE1. That's why they're rooting for the demise of PoE2. That's also why they're trying to represent their argument as the argument of the entire community in threads like 'game is dropping like a stone' (while it isn't by the way). This way they think can have more leverage towards GGG. Thankfully, GGG makes it's decisions based on numbers and statistics as well as feedback from the public. And people need to remember the following: - it's version 0.1, not 1.0. - it's early access - the game has been out for 3 weeks - more than half of the skills are missing, limiting build diversity - there's only a couple of uniques, more will be added - we're still missing half the characters - we're still missing the 3rd ascendancy class - balancing takes time - skills can be tweaked And secondly, people need to learn how to give feedback: - Be specific and provide examples. - Focus on actions or outcomes, not personal attributes. - Use constructive and respectful language. - Balance positive feedback with areas for improvement. - Suggest actionable steps or solutions. |

" I have 2500 hours in PoE, but I think PoE2 is better in almost every aspect. Stop thinking that you represent the entire playerbase. You don't. |

First off, there's no such thing as a supporter that is enjoying someone's downfall. Second, The number of furious posts has been steadily building. If there is not steady progress towards fixing the issues, this will eventually translate into less eyes on everything the product offers. I've watched this exact process a few times now. Darktide is a great example of the process. It offers a unique experience but the devs consistently fail to address problems in a timely manner (2 years to fix weapon crafting), and it destroyed the product.
If they do another batch of nerfs without major positive changes just one more time, they will lose a portion of the playerbase forever. Question is if they are good with that and want this game to be hardcore only. Last edited by Gigs#6884 on Dec 25, 2024, 6:58:43 PM
