Wrong, it was originally revealed as a 4.0 expansion to PoE 1 during Exilecon 2019. The plan for the 2 games to be seperate was only made official recently. People feel scammed and betrayed, rightfully so.

That devs did a 180° at some point during development ? Probably happened , nothing new there in such projects ( look at Star Citizen lmao ) . But for sure since at least one year ago that i followed closely what they were cooking they were quite clear the new installment was in no way PoE 1 HD at all .

Lmao, a year. I've spent more time being bored of this game and more time not supporting because of terrible decisions (and our money being put into shit projects like ruthless) than the time you've known this game existed.

Read my previous post. GGG milked player money on the promise of a graphical update, and THEN did a switcheroo and forced ruthless onto everyone with PoE2. You wouldn't know, because you weren't here.

I was completely uninterested in PoE 2 when it was still a graphical and content update for PoE 1. If I wanted to play PoE 1 I would play PoE 1.

The only reason I bought PoE 2 is because *it's not PoE 1*. I like the devs vision. The parts that are holding it back are explicitly things that are ported from PoE 1 (trading, crafting, seasons and leagues).

With very few exceptions, they changed what was working and kept what wasn't.

I'm no expert on game design but that seems like the inverse of what they should be doing.
