What they're doing wrong in D3

Not all will work but I hope POE capitalizes on this!
Legendary!
I don't really care, and I don't think most other people do either.

I NEVER payed or felt the need to play a D2 mod. The multiplayer/ladder is where it was at. So no singleplayer isn't a problem either.

Money trading. I don't see the problem, as it's optional.
My only problem with Diablo 3 is the art direction.
I'm pretty sure PoE is also "online-only". That being said, how exactly can you play modded versions of online-only games unless you make a hacked server or something?
interesting indeeeddd. Thanks for the youtube link. This podcast has really opened my mind on Diablo 3 stuff.

I completely agree, I do wish the art style was darker. The auction house and online-only thing don't really bother me, since I don't see myself being affected by them...
Oh btw. when i watched the video it does seem i guess a little one sided... in the sense that they didn't really try to explore the other side of the debate or issue. I love to watch the podcasts of Force, ScyberDragon, and Sixen regarding D3. I know they definitely know what they're talking about because they were actually there at the Media Event, and are really up-to-date on Blizzard games. So.. yeah! check out their podcasts, and maybe it'll give u some more incite in why D3 is going into the direction it is.

Here is one of their most recent podcasts " http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QpSkhvPVQI&feature=channel_video_title "

only interesting point in there is the question if unique items should allways be better than random generated ones or not.

And the PoE-devs are actually on my side i guess as i feel that random stuff needs to have a chance to top the "premade" items with kind of fixed stuff if your are lucky enough.
Else you get the needed uniques in all slots and it´s like game over.

The only interesting thing on unique stuff is special skills, effects etc. that could be on them and allowing different "builds" for chars only based on one or 2 items. Buf for this to work they don´t need to be superior to all random generated stuff .. they just need to bring some kind of "utility" with them to be used.

I think many people have stated many times the main issues with D3 development. Im fine with real money being in the game but my issue is peoples greed. D2 was bad with scammers, imagine how bad it will get when everything has a real worth to it. Kids get upset when they loose their stuff what happens when they considered the money they lost. Games are suppose to be fun, not stressful, not a job (ie. time for money).
Personally I cannot wait for both games to come out.

I will gladly play both and I am very confident I will enjoy both tremendously.

I guess some people need to favorite one title over another and it makes them feel better to bring one down so that they can convince themselves that the other is much better.

I think that D3 has all the chances in the world to be a AAA+ title in every way shape or form and that from what we have seen about PoE, we can expect just the same.

I guess my point is, don't compare, just appreciate the fact that you have choices and that you will have 2 very good Action RPGs installed on your drive to waste WAY too much time than you should :)
