"Zoom Mode" and "Normal Mode" is perhaps the solution.

What more can I say....? Even mediation seems impossible with this community.

The game's state right now pretty much mirrors the community feelings, it tries to be two different things and doing none of them right to the end.

There are a ton of builds that essentially one shot bosses right now. If they don't nerf them in the next month, then we know they are fine with it, but they might nerf it.

Zoom is going to happen whether they like it or not. It is the nature of a game that is so heavily reliant on gear for character power and has a focus on freedom of builds. To stop it they would literally have to tear out parts that they consider core to the game.

Yep I'm using gas arrow and flame wall to level a melee warrior, it's just significantly easier and faster to get through the campaign that way. When I have the skills unlocked I'll switch into melee and probably have a much worse time.

Game just simply doesn't support it's own combat philosophy. Does gas explosion get removed? Nerfed Into the ground? Everything else bought up same level as it? It's not like it's being abused, ignite plus gas is a simple two button build anyone could make. Using just the skills as intended.

Again - which mode gets to be the "real" game, Ion?

You cannot have two separate-yet-equal game modes. Path 1 itself proves this - not only does no one in the 'Community' take any mode other than softcore trade remotely seriously, the game itself is designed, tuned and balanced on the base assumption everyone playing it is doing so in softcore trade and anyone doing otherwise is imposing an artificial, unsupported challenge on yourself.

You are proposing a "solution" that effectively renders one of your camps into pointless pariahs abandoned by the developers. Spoilers: it won't be the camp with players who aren't demanding eternally increasing buttloads of free character speed and power forever. Those players already have their game; the rest of us in your camp of players who enjoy the pacing and challenge of early PoE2 act play do not have any game.

We'd like to keep this one, and perhaps tune it to be less obnoxiously zoomy-blasty in endgame as well.
