GGG, you won against this new player to the franchise.

This game was supposed to be the answer to: "You need a guide to play PoE 1" and its exactly the opposite of that.

And the game right now attracts 1 specific type of people, the "git gud" andies that are the most insuferable type of player I have ever seen, worse than Moba andies, worse than MMO andies and even worse than OG RTS andies.

PoE 2 will not survive season 3 and if the game doesn't get a big overall change and will drop players every week.

Its not new player friendly, its not PoE 1 player friendly... who are going to play this game? Single player experience gamers? Those players will leave in Season 1.

The fact is that the game is just boring, everything is a chore and it only has like 4-5% of interesting skills. If you are not playing those skills you are not going to have fun in PoE 2. So that's that.

Actually the sad thing is that PoE 2 will evolve naturally to a very faster type of game (And fun game) but a lot of people who tried the game now won't play then and probably won't come back.

There are folks on this forum that are saying they've put in 130 hours into this game. The game is 13 days old! That's 10 hours/day. That's who GGG is building this game for?

Yes, and also others. That's the magic of a great RPG is they scale.

Appealing to the absolute most hardcore gamers is a good thing, because if they are happy, it means those casual players will be happy in a month from now.

Hardcore players are the canary in the coal mine. If you pick up a game and they are enjoying it, you can safely assume you will get your money's worth.

Sorry imo it sounds like people who have very little outside of this game.
No wonder there is so much emotion around it. It's kind of sad.

Wow, are most of the people in this thread the same group of people who went to Lake Michigan to “primal scream” because Trump won the election?
Man, I hate posts like this. First, calling the hardcore fanbase toxic is ridiculous. Just about ALL the toxicity has come from haters like you guys, spouting off in ignorance about corporate indifference and high level bad decisions - sorry but if you knew anything about GGG, you'd know that is not the case.

Second, I consider myself a casual gamer, but I'm not getting one shot by anything. When I look at people's builds who complain, it is ALL offence. And then they wonder why they're so squishy. Yes, you need offense, but consider the layers of defense. The game, at least the campaign is definitely NOT overtuned any more. The difficulty requires intelligent play and a balance between offense and defense. If that's not something you can wrap your head around, then that's a shame.

I do agree about the Trials, both Sekhemas and, especially, Chaos. Even as a POE1 players, I would never push Chaos to 10, not ever, as I know I won't make it. They still need to greatly tune down the debuffs in both, as well as adjust the trash between the stages and the bosses. The bosses themselves aren't a problem, which sort of says it all, as most of the time you just can't can't to them because of the other mechanics (or you honour is already shot in the case of Sekhemas).

That said, the majority of the criticisms here are unfounded and delivered in an incredibly mean-spirited way, so for the OP to talk about the toxicity of the community is ridiculous. Given he and many others are so toxic and hateful in their speech, is it any wonder they encounter negativity from others? Try not being an a**** and watch how differently people respond to you. You might be surprised.

What's that old rule that it seems so many have forgotten? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Of course, because we're the ones who go to other people's posts, post useless comments and act like fanboys of a million-dollar company, right?
Are the "haters" who keep saying "git gud" in every post on the forums here and on Steam?
Wait, it's actually the r-words fanboys of the Souls series.

(And of course, how awful of us PoE1 and ARPG looter fans to expect PoE2 to be an ARPG looter, and not a Soulslike)
Sadly the game is balanced around an over abundance of trade items.

Which means the average player and solo player will greatly suffer. It's a huge issue many complain about.

GGG refuses to balance the game around ssf.

Appealing to the hardcore gamers rarely works out for a live service game since the casuals just leave. It is why poE1 switch gears. It is why D4 switched gears. It is why Wildstar died
Not every game is for every person.

Your major critiques are core features of the game experience, and have been for over 10 years. Unfortunately that won't be changing anytime soon. And that's ok, there's a huge range of games to play right now.
