GGG, you won against this new player to the franchise.

So, my Merc friend finally gave in.
Tried Chaos trials, get to the boss...die. Did that 4 times. Couple of things he said "If Im playing an ARPG for myself, why should I have to go to a marketplace to trade with other players to find gear for my build? That defeats the purpose of me playing the game for myself, I dont want to trade with ppl. D2 had that, an you would spend hours in trade lobbies. If that is what this game is about, its a trash game, hands down." So, with that, an yes I paid for the unfinished beta test too, Im out. This game is not new player friendly, its for the hardcore PoE fanbase an thats not me. The loot is trash. The 'crafting' system is garbo unless you buy stuff from the market because you get so few drops when your salvaging mats. Im here to play for myself, not for others. Ive tried doing a build for warrior that 'wasnt what I wanted' an it does such little damage, its garbo as well. Fun factor with melee is -100 for warrior. "You NEED RESISTANCES!!!" Ok? What if Im not getting lucky with drops? "THE MARKET PLACE YOU BOOB!" No, I dont want to trade with other players, Im playing solo for myself, adjust loot. D4 started with RM AH, an we all saw how that went, but this is a staple of PoE, so its auto trash. Im sorry. Spending an absurd about to respec is fucking stupid. It took WoW YEARS to go to free respecs because its the future of gaming, not an archaic time in gaming. Well, Hardcore PoE fanbase an GGG, you won against this new player to the franchise. It needs alot of work, but sadly I wont be back. Take care you all in your new game! I hope you make it a game that caters to the hardcore fanbase since its a real toxic fanbase you have catered too. This, a thousand times. I'm not even new, and I despise what this game is right now.
The difficulty has no purpose other than giving people a reason to gatekeep and lord their egos over others. You're clearly trying to create a toxic elitist player base that the entire world will hate. If this game fails, and GGG dies because of it, you truly earned your pink slips. I hope your share holders litigate you into oblivion for gross negligence. Melee classes are outright impossible without hours on end of grinding to have the perfect gear. Defenses are pointless because half the mobs one shot you, and when you do kill things hidden on death effects kill you and rob you of xp and loot. What is the point of this game? To see how quickly you can nose dive a successful company into the dirt because some idiot in a board room likes dark souls entirely too much? You don't need to redefine what PoE is... you had hands down the best arpg in the market. Why are you now trying to butt into someone else's niche? YOU HAVE YOUR OWN FOR GODS SAKE. I just spent the last 2 hours wiping over and over in a zone that is 4 levels under me. Getting killed almost instantly by chaos damage because chaos resistance is practically impossible to get without immense amounts of luck. Hell just to get out of act 2 I had to spend two DAYS not hours, DAYS grinding the mad wolf for rares just to be able to not get one shot by the act 2 boss, who was EIGHT FUCKING LEVELS BELOW ME. This game isn't 'hard'... it's pointlessly difficult for the sake of being difficult and if it stays like this I for one will not be playing it, or PoE1. You will have destroyed my faith in you. Faith you worked hard to get. Congrats. |

And so it begins. The game will start losing players like crazy in the next 2 months after the hype wears off and people either quit during the campaign or get to endgame and see just how badly this game is designed, and how much it wastes your time.

To be fair it's EA and Chaos Trial is pretty much THE WORST PART of the game right now. I call it dogshit, too. But overall they have quite a time frame until full release to fix certain aspects of the game. The Campaign is a beautiful work of art and the hate and rage you feel while doing those trials(the later ones) might make some people forget about it. That's a shame.

" I'm starting to think it goes beyond that. The changes they proposed did not even touch on the fact that you can walk around in a zone 4 levels below you, and get damn near 1 shot. The game is overtuned to hell and back, for no damn good reason. |

It's certainly not for large sections of the poe 1 fanbase in it current form, but I have hope, all the patches seem to be moving in the right direction so far.
We just need to get to the point where we can talk about reduced tedium without elitists going on about difficulty all the time Last edited by XeonPOE#7768 on Dec 17, 2024, 5:10:19 PM

Really hope GGG dont cave in and listen to all these cry baby posts. The game is not too hard, if a certain boss is too hard for you then go back and farm some more which the game is all about, farming items.
Check vendors for upgrades every level. If you have decent gear and your dps still suck then its your build, maybe do some changes there. If you play standard you can get away with very low resistances. | |
" It's either they "cave in" and improve the game or it just dies. |

I've also quit the EA. There are so many core elements that are busted and anti-fun, and I won't return until they're changed. If they never get changed, I'm done with PoE and GGG.
1. On-death loot despawn and monster respawn needs to go 2. Single-attempt maps needs to be reverted back to six, it wasn't broken so why break it? 3. When doing group play in maps you should be able to revive other players so they don't have to use an extra portal 4. Gems need to level with experience again 5. Uncut Gems need to be thrown in the trashbin of bad ideas 6. Add Gems back to the vendors like in PoE1, and add a Gem Vendor who sells every regular rarity Gem, also like in PoE1 7. Massively increase drop rates; we play ARPGs for loot, and so we can gear ourselves as we level without having to resort to trading (but can do so if we feel like it) 8. Add a crafting bench so we can actually craft, and not just gamble for affixes 9. Massively increase move speed options and movement skill options 10. Fix the passive tree to have more survivability (HP in particular) nodes, and more build-making nodes 11. Massively increase the skill speed of certain abilities (mainly Warrior abilities which are far too slow) 12. Remove the instant-death abilities such as the Hag water bubbles 13. Fix Leap Slam to not get pushed around midair, or slowed midair, or anything else that makes zero sense from a physics perspective; getting frozen in the middle of a jump shouldn't make you float in midair 14. Bring back Labs instead of Sanctum and Ultimatum, both of which are absolute garbage-tier design for Trials 15. Massively reduce the size of zones and maps 16. Rework the zones to feel like they were built for a real life purpose by the people living in the game world, and not like they were built by a third-rate game dev building their first ever map in someone else's map editing program with the express purpose of building an overly large maze for the players to wander around in for far too long. Seriously. These zones feel about as poorly made as the first map I made in the Star Craft map editor when I was 10 years old, and thought that's what people meant by 'custom maps'. And then I played custom maps online, and realized there were entire RPGs being made within Star Craft by the players. These PoE2 zones are my garbage attempts at making custom maps as a small child. Anyways. PoE2 has already dropped 28% peak to peak player count from opening weekend to today. So whatever anyone tells you about how much they like this game and they don't want GGG to change these terrible core philosophies and design elements, they're wrong. And the numbers prove it. This game's hemorrhaging players at a rate of around 4% of the previous day's numbers per day, and it's not even a free beta--it's paid; and it's a game type that's supposed to keep players playing for weeks or even months at a stretch. |

you cant even play multiplayer to take some of the burden off of the early act difficulties.
you have to wait to respawn and most of the time its during a boss and they cant revive you because there isnt enough down time during bosses cause your constantly moving. also revive takes an insane amount of time.. why the hell does it take like damn near a minute to fill that hourglass.. holy shit the game is super bad i am convinced it was designed 100% purely for the top 50 or so streamers its literally catered entirely to them not only THAT.. as if that wasnt enough. the game just scales super stupid and gets HARDER if you have to many people join. assuming they are poorly geared/new.. you can literally just put yourself in a position you can win in because you have multiple noobs making the game harder then they can handle cause everything out scaled them Last edited by BrainVs#6980 on Dec 17, 2024, 6:40:38 PM
