Cheers,
I tried with multiple characters and builds - I cannot beat Jamanra, I just cannot. Not one single time.
Before people say: You suck, skill issue, I had no problem, he was a piece of cake ...
There is a thing called hand/eye coordination. You got it or you don't - and this game is intent on weeding out people who don't have good hand/eye coordination. I suck at platform jump & run games because of the lack of good hand/eye coordination. And there is NOTHING you can do about it, unless someone can rewire your brain. It's like telling colour blind people to just "try harder" or tone-deaf people to "git good". It's a hurdle you cannot pass and the hurdle set by this boss is too high for me - I cannot pass it. I tried (I started to count the attempts) 57 times to get past this boss - I just can't.
Attack, dodge, attack, dodge - and if you miss one of those by a tiny bit, you get hit by 1 or 2 of the spears and need to heal, running out of charges eventually.
Then his channel attack - I am behind him, sometime he does a last split second turn and now you're in his 270° arc - and dead. I can't react that fast when he does the turn, I just can't. That last split second turn killed me 20+ times.
I have a super hard time to even see which way the guy is pointed to be positioned correctly - this forces me to lose control of the situational awareness because I need 100% of my attention to see what he does. So he plants the stationary pillars at my feet - I don't notice - dead.
I am so focused on him that I miss his casting the sandstorm. When I finally realize that the sandstorm is up and I make it behind Asala the auto targeting loves to stay on the boss and the minions kill me. When I survive the minions and get back into the fight I have to concentrate on him AND the minions that survived. This is another complete overload for me and he kills me.
So - this boss is - from my point of view - a pinnacle boss that will weed out those with good hand/eye coordination from those with poor. If you have good hand/eye coordination, you are worthy to pass into act 3. If you have bad hand/eye coordination the game ends here for you.
I don't mind this type of wall in the endgame which puts certain bosses beyond my reach. In PoE this used to be the harder version of Sirus and some Ubers - I just couldn't do these for the reasons mentioned. But that was Endgame! This is campaign!!
So - as much as I like the game, GGG seems to hate players like me and deems me not worthy to progress. The only question will be how many players are weeded out this way and how many are motivated enough to proceed.
The one thing I regret is that I love ARPGs but this is the 1st with so much dodging and lengthy fights (in campaign!) - and I really, really can't cope with it - as much as I'd like to. Now tell me how I suck and how you had no issues and beat im in < 2 seconds.
I know this is probably not the way you want to play this game, but PM me, so i can add you . If you want,i will help you kill every boss on normal and cruel.
Once you gear yourself , coordination wont matter much, because bosses will die in seconds.

While I do agree that Jamanra is the hardest boss in the whole game and it took me a frustrating 10+ times to beat him on my first character, I do feel this is a combination of stubbornness and a skill issue on your part.
While I expect some of these pain points to be smoothed over in the coming months, for the time being there are several simple solutions to be had.
I would suggest trying to trade for some better gear as you should've gotten at least 1 exalt by now, but if for whatever reason you haven't gotten one, try farming up a little bit. Get a level or two and farm a tiny bit of currency/gear with more lightning resists as Jamanra does majority lightning (with some physical I think)
You've so got this and I think with a bit more preparation you can totally beat him. I would love to see what build you're running though because you might just be playing one of the harder classes that isn't as well balanced right now. Feel free to shoot me a message if you want some help too as I have a few higher level characters :)
I got him after 3 deaths once I switched to Frost Bolt/Cold Snap. Before I tried with Arc + Lightning Orb + Flame Wall and that was just too much clutter to see the boss. The 3 deaths with the new build were:
1: Using Frost Wall in phase 1 - once again too much clutter, missed him turning and ate his AoE ... dead
2: The other two deaths were in phase 2 and entirely due to movement errors - dodging into a tornado and his circular attack was a bad move and the other time I managed to roll into a spitting portal and ate a full load of the bolts they shoot.
I know he does lightning damage and wanted to switch to lightning resistance but my 4th trial attempt succeeded with only 9% lightning resistance.
I still feel the boss would be a lot nicer with about 1/2 of his health, possibly 1/3.

Same here. I have been stuck for 8 levels so far not being able to beat the Viper boss, since her poison was wrecking me and there was no way to get better poison resists like with Fire/Ice. I had to check the forums to realize there is a bug in game where it says Chaos it should have been Poison.
Problem is I only have 2 pieces of gear that give me Chaos resist maxxing it at 22%, but to do so I need to remove my Spell Damage Ring, and by doing so the boss becomes actually harder.
As I said, I have already leveled up 8 levels above the boss by painfully grinding the same map over and over, hoping to improve my gear but no luck on the drops or the crafting. And since at lvl 48 it takes such a long time to lvl up and access to the good stuff you can get at the vendors, well, the game just did not feel fun anymore.
Note: I am a causal player not a hardcore minmaxing one, and loved when I read that in Path of Exile 2 ALL BUILDS would be viable. Something that obviously isn't true. Playing LVL48 Frost Sorcerer here.

My gear was ok, I was rolling through content. The issues I had was with the clutter my build produced - especially Flame Wall distracts me way too much and hides what the boss is doing.
I switched to Frost Bolt/Cold Snap, didn't use Frost Wall because of the clutter effect and got through phase 1 by just using Frost Bomb, Frost Bolt and Cold Snap when he was frozen. I think I ate one of his spear attacks in phase one. So no problem.
Phase 2 was with Frost Bomb/Frost Wall and close in and Cold Snap when frozen. I had to limit myself to one Frost Wall because with 2 I already ran into visibility issues again. But it didn't take long. Came close to dying twice because of dodging into harm's way - but he's history now.
Once we get the Meteors to support us, he should be easier the second time around.

Ah, I am not there yet but I feel comfortable. I have 2 nice chaos resistance rings and an amulet that shortens poison duration. Coming from PoE1 I know that poison damage taken is interpreted as chaos damage. It's just for dishing it out that poison and chaos are separated. Having played Toxic Rain Pathfinder or Shadow a few times ...

If you are 8 levels above an area boss and still can’t beat him it’s not bad game design, only a bad gamer. Sorry man not being rude but it’s simply just true.
The bosses telegraph everything they do. Just learn to pattern recognize and game will be pretty easy.

Finally beat him, can't say I will take this as a memorable boss experience in a positive light like beating Malenia in Elden ring.

Wow man, you reported me because i said someone is bad at the game? Why are some people so thinned skinned?
I don’t want GGG to make the game easier because some people are just bad at the game.
