Giving up on the game - I can't get past Act 2 (no chance in hell)

EDIT: After 63 times he is finally dead. But I had to change the build and my passive tree. The issue was mainly the visual clutter that prevented me from properly seeing the boss and reacting to it. Once I used a cleaner setup with less clutter the fight went well. Nil desperandum ...

Cheers,

I tried with multiple characters and builds - I cannot beat Jamanra, I just cannot. Not one single time.

Before people say: You suck, skill issue, I had no problem, he was a piece of cake ...

There is a thing called hand/eye coordination. You got it or you don't - and this game is intent on weeding out people who don't have good hand/eye coordination. I suck at platform jump & run games because of the lack of good hand/eye coordination. And there is NOTHING you can do about it, unless someone can rewire your brain. It's like telling colour blind people to just "try harder" or tone-deaf people to "git good". It's a hurdle you cannot pass and the hurdle set by this boss is too high for me - I cannot pass it. I tried (I started to count the attempts) 57 times to get past this boss - I just can't.

Attack, dodge, attack, dodge - and if you miss one of those by a tiny bit, you get hit by 1 or 2 of the spears and need to heal, running out of charges eventually.

Then his channel attack - I am behind him, sometime he does a last split second turn and now you're in his 270° arc - and dead. I can't react that fast when he does the turn, I just can't. That last split second turn killed me 20+ times.

I have a super hard time to even see which way the guy is pointed to be positioned correctly - this forces me to lose control of the situational awareness because I need 100% of my attention to see what he does. So he plants the stationary pillars at my feet - I don't notice - dead.

I am so focused on him that I miss his casting the sandstorm. When I finally realize that the sandstorm is up and I make it behind Asala the auto targeting loves to stay on the boss and the minions kill me. When I survive the minions and get back into the fight I have to concentrate on him AND the minions that survived. This is another complete overload for me and he kills me.

So - this boss is - from my point of view - a pinnacle boss that will weed out those with good hand/eye coordination from those with poor. If you have good hand/eye coordination, you are worthy to pass into act 3. If you have bad hand/eye coordination the game ends here for you.

I don't mind this type of wall in the endgame which puts certain bosses beyond my reach. In PoE this used to be the harder version of Sirus and some Ubers - I just couldn't do these for the reasons mentioned. But that was Endgame! This is campaign!!

So - as much as I like the game, GGG seems to hate players like me and deems me not worthy to progress. The only question will be how many players are weeded out this way and how many are motivated enough to proceed.

The one thing I regret is that I love ARPGs but this is the 1st with so much dodging and lengthy fights (in campaign!) - and I really, really can't cope with it - as much as I'd like to. Now tell me how I suck and how you had no issues and beat im in < 2 seconds.

I agree, this fight is fucking bullshit...

How could you even think that would be fun?

I am about to quit the damn game because I can't beat act 2 also...

This game is like WORK. IT IS NOT A GAME.. IT IS NOT FUN RIGHT NOW, IT FEELS LIKE I AM TRYING TO HAVE FUN BUT I CAN'T HAVE FUN BECAUSE THE GAME IS WAY TO FUCKING HARD.

AT LEAST MAKE RUTHLESS MODE OPTIONAL... SO NORMAL PEOPLE CAN ENJOY THE FUCKING GAME
Stay close to him and try to get behind him. His auto attacks don't do that much damage.

get a party... and they will help you. The party mechanic exist for that. Just make a public party asking for help and within minutes you will have it done
Post your char and maybe someone can help you. A bit of defence goes a long way etc. Hell, add me - RagMonkEA - when I'm online, I'll invite you to guild and go through it with you.

You might try what I did. If you can't beat him solo, join up with a couple of other players and have them help you. He's the only boss I couldn't do solo. I do have decent hand/eye coordination but he can seem pretty daunting. You're dodging for 90% of the fight, hiding behind the bubble during the storm 5% of the fight, and actually fighting the rest of the time. Get some help to get past him so you don't have to look at his ugly face again lol, at least for awhile.

You didn't read my post, eh?

I try to stay behind him. But people who have good hand/eye coordination and reflexes cannot understand how someone who doesn't struggles. It's like a person with normal vision puzzling why a colour blind person can't see the obvious red 4 in the middle of the green square.

ARPGs implement bosses like this usually towards the end game, not in the beginning of the campaign. GGG has a thing for player punishment, though. You died? No loot for you, in endgame you lose experience and as a special reward we will repopulate the map for you, you loser!

I prefer motivational approaches over punishment - and POE2 is a hard fail in terms of motivation, unless you have a masochistic streak and enjoy Souls games. Then, of course, it will be fun for you.

Thanks, that is good advice but for ARGPs I have two rules that I follow (because I found my experience ruined when I didn't):

1: No trade - you play the game with what you find or craft
2: No partying - you do it by yourself or you fail

Since I can't beat him, the game isn't for me and thus my POE2 journey ends.
It makes me sad to hear they don't account for people with disabilities. I hope they fix this.

Because it is non viable to go very far with it. It either limits the game that the majority of their costumers want or increase costs beyond what the perceived return can be.

Do you see many games that care to support BLIND players? No.. it is impossible? Not at all. But it is not economically feasible or you need to simplify so much the gameplay that you kill the product to the majority of the player base.
