So when are you going to halve Minions aka Walking Simulator?

I think the game is already really damned good (few bugs aside) and it only really needs balancing. This worries me and I hope they aim for around the summoner area of medium, not the mercenary.
I haven’t played ranger but a friend has, had a terrible time and quit it before he could even ascend (he is nearer your skill than mine) another friend has quit monk for same reason, another quit a third class and that friend is easily in your band of skill.

Sorry it’s a long reply. But I love the potential of the game, love the complex bosses you have to learn and can’t outpower etc etc. We just need it to be in the right place where middle majority are happy and not pamper to the ‘hardcore’ or ‘casual” player, currently the game is too hard in act one first few areas till after Lachlan (sorry that’s certainly spelt wrong lol) for 70%+ of gamers and that’s wrong (imo).

I was meaning to comment on this % audience thing. Long ago I praise PoE for 'picking an audience', this was back around Shaper/Elder days. This was on the Warframe forums. A game that never picked an audience. I started both games in 2013 and they're the same age.

At the time while PoE had less playerbase that playerbase was generally more content while the Warframe had more playerbase which have never been content. Later PoE switched gears and once it did there was no turning back because of player backlash. Thus they got stuck in this place where they couldn't make any healthy changes to the game.

I love theory crafting in both those games. I'd do 3 hour runs Solo in Warframe for no rewards. Just to test a build. Obviously PoE is my jam for that also so I always play each league just to try another idea. I might be a bit of an outlier type of player. I love making hipster builds work well.

But getting back to the % audience. I agree they should not cater to the top % nor the bottom but having done difficulty in games myself. That's hard. Esp with player pride. I have difficulty settings in my last project and players obviously pick the hardest cuz they're Pros. Then they complain about HP bag enemies or one-shots. This is when the game has difficulty settings.

The game does not feel balanced to me which I'd use to tweak skills, classes and similar so they can have a baseline to even judge if difficulty for certain things is too high or low. You say minion feels about right for now. I say it's going to get trivial. One thing I'm going to make another topic on is level differences because that also has an influence on why minions work so well.

I'd tweak that first actually. I just know the minion count is going to bite them later.

Seems like we have a lot in common, other than I’d never touch warframe for the same reasons I quit neverwinter really quick ;)

Yes I agree there is a lot of balancing to do and I was specific about my experience (now 25% in act 3 and it’s the same balance as it was when I previously posted). I suspect you might have seen certain videos that make bosses in maps look trivial but I can tell you (as we have a guild member at that phase of the build) that he can do more boss dmg but the issue is minions suck (just like they do in PoE1 without convocation) in anything but a wide open map. The videos are people ‘bragging’ for views and only tell a part of the story, my guild member has told me the whole story and I am worried about maps.

Look it’s like someone else said, how would you like it if a couple of ‘nobody youtubers’ posted a video of a deadeye nuking a boss and the GGG reacts (after a thread like this one pops up) by taking half your dmg (and with minions it’s worse cos they are also half our defence)?
