So when are you going to halve Minions aka Walking Simulator?

There are mobs that target you and ignore minions. Also why having a build that plays easier is a problem? It was alwayes the case not only in POE. You just choose the way you want to play. Also despite the numbers the damage is reasonable and you cant one shot bosses like posion granades for example.
Also minions have cooldowns and problems in narrow spaces since they are constantly stuck and spread in different rooms.
It seems like you have not actually tried this minion bukd, before late game when i got good hp and res on them they where dying a lot, especially on bosses.
sure bro i will play the way YOU want because...reasons

why there is always this type of dude that asks to remove X he don't like and don't play instead of asking to ADD some Y he will enjoy?

Have you actually played a minion using character in POE 2? A lot of what you're saying sounds like armchair observation and not actual fact. And besides, the entire power fantasy of the archetype is having many pet attackers, you remove that and there's no real point to the minion class/abilities at all and might as well delete it.

I have. My first character was an Infernalist. Sadly they can't do much else when my attempts to make anything else work failed I decided to just reroll.

The flaw is in the 'power fantasy' concept itself. I've struggled with minions development myself even knowing these flaws. I set it so a player could have one big perma minion and a few temporary minions. This worked fine until some players decided to meme me by playing 4 summoners.

It was at that point I had to revisit all the temporary summons. Reduce their numbers and increase their stats. I also had to make certain ones harder to get the requirements for.

Ultimately the flaw lies in the number of minions not specifically their power.

No, thanks. I've always played necro with my main point being to have as many permanent minions as possible.

I've always hated mass minions builds in PoE1. Esp for problems they caused with balancing. Yet for a game that's supposed to be more hardcore. You've still allowed mass minions to exist?

Doesn't feel very PoE2 vision to me.

Don't get me wrong. I don't mind minions builds. One big dude with a few temporary summons. But as developers you should understand what happens when you create a mass pet situation, right?

For those who think I'm just saying nerf it for no reason I'll explain the fundamental problem. Minions create alternate targets and automated damage sources. This lowers pressure on the owner of said minions. As minion numbers increase it can trivialize the game based on Enemy Density. I personally enjoy PoE2's current density and do not want to see a screen of 100 enemies like PoE1. Thus the number of minions needs to go down. 600+ Spirit providing 20 minions is simply too much.

Spectre is more my style of a minion. One big hulk to control yet last I saw a Spectre was 165 Spirit which means there's still too many bodies on the screen. Oh and minions hardly die.

Ok, so I have read your concerns and I have to add to your thread.
I started with Mercenary and hit a hard brick wall, and additionally the game felt like work not entertainment.
I this morning rerolled as a witch minion build, and I have to say I have found it so far (half way through act 2) to be the perfect balance for the game.

Let me explain why….
Trash isn’t trivial and needs care but is possible to kill at a rate that campaign won’t take 30+hours (once optimised playing if it has been achieved, it is taking me about 6-8 hours per act currently).
Bosses even with an army of minions are still very very dangerous and still have to learn their mechanics and execute them with near perfect efficiency (but with some scope for errors).

I can see the state of the game at the moment to be mostly for the so called 1% and builds that will campaign well but not get beyond tier 6-7 maps. This will not be a financial success, and neither would it be if they cater to the ‘casual’ player. It needs to be so top 20% think it’s a little too easy, the bottom 20% think it’s a little to hard and the 60% in the middle are content.

The level of my witch summoner has this range of ‘balance’ imo at the moment though am expect some minor nerfs so core is 15% too hard and then the league mechanic adds 15% of ease each 3 months in some way.

Minions are damn bad, they dont do any damage, only usefull for spreading curses and DoTs...

+ lots of boss dont even have adds so you cant respawn them...

And they often miss aggro and you end dead before you know it because some monsters goes between your minions..

We need an minion aggro gem at least, please, they should meat shield for more than only projectiles.

Still, i agree a spectre build would be awesome, but sadly it's not IG already, so... yeah, like any other archetype, we are nerfed by lack of contents, but it's an early and it's expected.

We need to deal with it for now and hope for future update adding more options and efficiency.

We shouldn't ask to limit the game more, but instead be hyped to have new things added as often as possible to have more build options (and overall, fun).

I think the fact that you can stand at range and just hold heavy block ... its a bit silly watching. Both ziz and krip talked about it being dumb as hell too
Snitches get stitches.

Why are you crying about extremely weak minions?

If you don't use Ragins Spirits, they are quite weak.
