Peak time Concurrents down by 39k in a single day - GJ GGG

losing 10% of a playerbase in a single day speaks volumes about future of this project

at this rate the EA will become a ghost town in 2 weeks

Well it doesn't help that most of the content is very hard, ascendancies are literally impossible at the level that they are designed and also the worst of them were chosen. Doesn't help that maps are boringly huge for no reason, and also the "git gud" players who have no real input but "git gud" and they haven't even passed act 2.

Also doesn't help that all the streamers are hyping everything up while the normal player struggles.

Also even if they follow a build guide that somehow works GGG comes and nerfs it because it overperforms, leaving them with their thumb in their mouth with a build that barely works, no respecc and no other option but to paly an underperforming build and getting more nervous .

This is completely normal, first of is EA, not release, people need to drill that into their minds, everyone is freaking out about changes and bugs as if it was the full release... people pay to play EA then people complain about EA being EA... even tho is stated everywhere how EA was going to be...

not worried about the people that left, they will be back for full release (as they should, if they are not willing to deal with EA problems that is understandable, the constant crying is not tho)

A lot of people are saying "We're fine with EA having massive sweeping changes. BUT! Until skills/passives/Ascendancies are in a more stable state, please just make respeccing cheaper."

That's it. Change, balance, nerf, buff all you want. But let us respec easily. When you're happy with how things are looking and EA is coming to a close, raise respec back up..

The excessive whining may be overboard, but so is the response to it. Telling other players to shut up and accept whatever happens isn't productive. The insults and belittling that people do, do nothing to further their position.

no such huge population bleed is NOT normal for brand new project that is NOT a F2P at the moment

at this rate there wont be anyone but Ruthless andies left to "test" within two weeks

and expecting everyone to come back after getting burned on the first impression in +- year and a half to two years when the game "releases" is naive

the only hope to GROW the playerbase was with positive impression, instead even content creators that used to hype this thing as second coming are complaining ...

I was both affected by the SRS nerf and the Cast-on gems nerf ON THE SAME CHARACTER and in both cases I was able to theorycraft my way out of those unto a better build.

I dont wanna be the "git gud" guy... but a little bit yeah, git gud, re-think your build, look into mechanics you haven't tried.

THAT BEING SAID, losing my 5Ls and all my gold twice in less than 5 days really hurts. This is usual PoE early balance and it's expected but we could do with respecs every time that happens.

Especially now that the game is that much more in the public spotlight
A little dramatic with the arm chair developer commentary. From what I remember most MMO's and ARPG's see something like 60% of the playerbase disappear after the first month of a launch/expansion.

Some of that 39k are no doubt players who found themselves with a bricked build and no gold to respec, though. I think that was a huge oversight, and I'd probably feel like moving on to another game if it happened to me.

meanwhile PoE2 lost 25% of its initial playerbase in FOUR DAYS

thats not decay of live service pseudo MMO

thats indicative of behaving like a SINGLE PLAYER one and done game that spikes high then plumets to next to nothing within a month ...

Right, and new players should experience that because you knew how to tackle it, you and some other people

Yes that is exactly what new players should experience cause we're all new to the game and I only used the information available to me within the game.

GGG will nerf stuff that's trivializing content, make peace with that or do not play this game, cause that's gonna be the reality from here until PoE3 release.

However, as I said and has been repeteadly stated, there needs to be palliative measures such as providing respecs. This is something they've always done and I see no reason why not do the same.
