TRADE is such a detriment to POE 2 being fun

"
The game is balanced around trade so to the people saying just go SSF is not reading the post and not engaging in good faith.
Yes 100% agreed. My dream game would be they take SSF and give it different parameters than trade league so for instance buff drops because you are not able to trade or use the currency exchange and buff crafting so its more deterministic. The problem with this is I think most people would abandon trade league and just play SSF. I just want a comfy sandbox to farm in where if I dump in 15-20 hours I can get a meaningful upgrade without needing to deal with trade bots, scammers and bug exploiting players who can hyper inflate the market because they are working with other people in discords.
Ok I'm legitimately confused on how trading is a PTW mechanic as some are alleging here. Personally, one of the biggest thrills of the game for me is when I get a drop that I know I can sell, which will translate to being able to get better gear for my character. It's not like we are able to just trade for the gear we want without first investing substantial time actually playing the game in order to get gear worth trading in the first place. It is almost like some people believe that we are trading real world money for gear which isn't the case at all. Sure this means I have to have extensive knowledge on whats valuable and what isn't, and that can certainly be considered a QOL problem for the casual gamer, but comparing trade to pay to win seems like a stretch to me.
OP - play SSF or SSF HC.

I hear everywhere these strange posts -
POE2 sucks as it has trade! But OP dont want to play SSF.
Or elsewhere..
POE1 sucks and you could only play it with trade and with dependency on economy; otherwise not at all.
Or crafting sucks ... because OP didnt know how to do and likes to collect yellow.

Or whatever.. sorry.
SSF isn't a solution. The drops are just as bad.

Frankly, nothing would make me happier than to see trade ripped out of the game, root and stem, and drops adjusted so you could actually find good items FOR YOUR CHARACTER while playing the game. But I'll settle for just adjusting the drops.
I hear you .. are you stuck somewhere? How far are you? Some people really got stuck in SSF HC or whatever somewhere due to RNG-esus.

You could add class or private loot. In contrary - there is no really loot which is restricted - you know.

You could make all loot decent - could be also an option. Or add a simple upgrade path for loot - with a button press.. not sure if this super engaging for the 5 ppl which like to trade.

Or just drop far more looot (ruthless will hate you ->KOS) .. or play with alot of quant or rarity /mf (evil.. already) .. or just farm quicker and keep what you need.

I prefered the options from POE1 slightly. Gave more flexibility to fix trash loot via crafting options .. for me it wasnt a trade issue or economoy problem as it was easily SSF viable. You can play here SSF too but i found options were lesser for fixing (RNG-esus > deter craft).

it's so funny how every problem with trade stems from the individual that has the problem with it. unless you're chasing top of the leaderboard, nothing anyone does in trade has any effect on you or your game. your own stupid brain creates all these issues that don't actually exist. "someone else has it better than me!" lol? yeah man welcome to The World.

I dont think so

Checking POE1 ladder, checking poe2. Nah. Playable, kindof.

But if you want to race against someone in a trade league - that is a different argument. But tbh - than we need ruthless and they need to have than also some measures like more exp per hour, better loot than ssf etc. .. endless trash loop not adding value. Stay within your league.

Easiest solution is to not engage with trading. It doesn't matter if someone else is progressing ahead of you. That has no impact on your game. There's no inbalance, as there's no PvP to worry about if someone is stronger than you. If you worry about leaderboards and want to participate in that, don't participate in a trade-enabled league. You don't have to make a SSF-flagged character either to play SSF, so you can still play with friends and so on. If you get loot for a class that you aren't using, consider maybe making some alts that can use that gear.

I personally want one of every class at end-game that I can swap between (though not necessarily every ascendancy). You can even make some new builds on your current class that can use the gear. If you're a Warrior, you can still become a spell caster and use gear more suited for that task.

Trading is optional. It's not something you need to do. I would even say trading makes you have less fun, since you buy your progression really fast and speedrun clearing everything until you burn out from "lack of things to do", rather than find it naturally over time. Trading is not why you use cookie-cutter flavor of the week builds, that's because you don't want to experiment and make fun builds for yourself to enjoy. It has literally nothing to do with trading except you not wanting to use what you got access to and make builds with that yourself.

Trading isnt the Problem. The Problem is, atm trading is the only solution because crafting is shit and drops are too.
Crafting is not really shit.. lets say, its very basic. I feel it is a slight downside. It hinders my gameflow .. a bit. 'buy 50 rings, spam aug, spam regal on 10%, delete 95%, spam exalt on 5% 'pray' -> keep or destroy, reforge
- if i dont find it on the street.

ITS NOT A TRADE, ECONOMY or SSF ISSUE as such.. its just bad luck. You could improve it. Some options may be boring such as always drop only perfect gear .. or remove gear .. but i wouldnt play that.. i like to grind gear .. in a game.

in POE1 you could craft - there was no need to only feed you loot via drops.. it is playable with found items only however. To increase odds in your favour crafting helped to fix obvious gaps; and not this type of random crafting.. crafting where you had influence on the outcome - depending on the craft.

The options in POE1 were just by far more .. to compensate for bad streaks..
with RNG based crafting, deter. crafting -higher probability for certain outcomes, and benchcrafting 100% success . I was super fine with that..

+ in poe1 you had also slightly more options to fix gaps via skill trees / auras .. some of that exists here in POE2 too or was differently implemented, or removed .

-passive tree had (in my opinion) more options
-potions for resistances, armour etc.
-atlas tree with buffs -> resistances, damage , runspeed
-auras (purity of elemenets for resistances)
-pantheons (e.g., additional buffs for dot effects whatever.. you can select2)
(guardskills)
(spell suppression)

one of the first toons i played ran till well into maps ssf hc .. without knowing much about poe2..

the next run was awful.. i hated all about it.. i found trash solely,. and vendor trash sucked..

till i found the evil.. magic find.. so i rerolled..

thus i partially can understand you.. but with patience .. you can just grind it... i would still opt-in for more crafting options and to leave trade as it is - a separate game mode.
