TRADE is such a detriment to POE 2 being fun

There's no problem with trade "per se" but with it's completely outdated implementation in PoE 2. I really don't understand people defending 10 years old system, especially when they say something about reason for it is "interacting with other players". LOL really? You just copy paste private msg to 10 poeple and who answers first you click 4 buttons and probably you never see again this player.

GGG will never get rid of trade because with it they don't need to care about items progression, analyzing drop rates etc., trade is easy solution for almost every itemization problem. I just hoped they will update ancient system from PoE 1 but it doesn't seem so.

Current SSF is not solution because progress is balanced around trading and "economy", so depends on luck you will sooner or later hit a wall and can't progress anymore.

Why GGG will not make SSF more viable? I don't have any idea. But without target farming or target crafting I'd rather stop playing than be again part of this abomination of trade system.

Because in SSF Mode there isn't audience for the MTX visual polution that is in Standard.

In GGG marketing minds, if more players move to SSF, sales of MTX will go down.

As an SSF player, I disagree, and quick glance at the number of supporter badges on my profile should help illustrate why. Keeping SSF players on board can 100% sell supporter packs. Having properly balanced options for both trade and SSF enjoyers can only help the game's longevity, and profitability.
Stay sane, exiles!
I’m glad I use my phone for trade site. Every time I alt tab in window modem or full screen mode the game crashes and closes out with out any error.
You have so many tools at hand to make the trade experience as seamless as possible that this whole trading tantrum is pathetic honestly, just invest half the time you used complaining here to learn about those and poof, problem gone.

Thinking that balancing the game around near immediate access to every single item (trade) is a bad idea isn't a "whole trading tantrum". Its crazy that you would even say that, why can't playing the game itself be rewarding and increase character power? Having terrible RNG and using a weird extra layer of trading to connect you with items is bad game design straight up, its no longer about hunting mobs and blasting for dopamine hit upgrades, its about how much money per hour you make to go spend at a store.

That irksome mentality of linking playtime with monetary gain just devolves into your game time becoming "how many divs/hr" you get and builds start to be "budget x div cost build" and "expensive Y div cost build", it permeates and taints everything. Every drop is measured through a lens of "how much is this worth". It also devalues any decent drop you might get, as you can just spend a handful of currency for something way more optimized with higher rolls and no junk modifiers, making any item you do get feel far far less rewarding or downright frustrating because you can never really get a single natty drop that compares. Plus it gates a ton of build-making uniques that are not target farmable so the chances you ever actually see them drop is near 0.

End of the day that entire mentality just puts a bad taste in my mouth and makes the game seem far more like working a job than playing a video game. Clocking into your 2 div an hour job to save up and buy an item at a store isn't an ARPG, its delivering pizzas for a paycheck to go buy a t-shirt at the mall. I really hope they steer away from it and lean more into going out in the world, using your abilities to kill enemies, having shiny upgrades drop or tweaking items via crafting to achieve your power rather than a trade website to skip literally all of that. I know hearing an alternative opinion is hard for you, but I assure you this isn't a "tantrum"

I think PoE is a game that is run by the economy. You sell a lot of equipment, pick up orbs, and buy the equipment you like. If this is no longer possible, it's not PoE anymore, I think Diablo 4 would be fine. I like the world that is run by this trade.
Learn from Last epochs system. I believe the trade system is one of the worst aspects of the game and can be improved.

OP, are you for real !?

1- You can play SSF
2- Trade has been in POE 1 for years, or take EVE Online as different example. The economy is an integral part of the game (if you want it to be, see 1).

you cant play SSF, bc the game is designed to push you into trade. drop rates suck, and 99% of what you find is for other classes. currency drops suck too.

unless you stack MF and no life a trade farming character. thats not fun, thats a job.
