Trading is trash, still in 2000?
The auction house in POE1 on the xbox was great! Why cant they do this here?

" Not really since Chris talks about items rather than currency. Personally I like trading the way it is done today. More automation or an AH would ruin the economy, as in all games where these systems exist |

" It really wouldn't. It's not like players can just print perfect mirror-tier items all day or super good evasion bases with t1 suppression and stuff like that in PoE 1. They still have to craft it. An AH that pricechecks the item for you and posts it would mean that people don't have to use sussy 3rd party programs to do it for them lol And unique item prices would be pretty much the same too, it's not like you can just farm 50x Nimis or whatever. It just removes the tedium of whispering people. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten a random unique with a corruption implicit and was like "ok time to check it on the trade siiiiite" and then its still 1c. Having a pricecheck in-game would save so much time. All my sale tabs are always full of random garbage that never sells, and I either end up vendoring it or putting it in my unique collection tab. The only things I ever sell are the obvious expensive items in PoE 1 and scarabs/currency. It's a good thing the currency exchange is in the game, it means no more whispering 20 people just to convert your bubblegum currency into chaos, then into divines. It removed all that pointless friction. An AH could do so much more. |

Just wanted to add my $.02
Yes, it's almost unfathomable that there isn't some sort of auction house. Honestly, as someone with things to sell, I can't be bothered to do it. I'd rather play the game than stop what I'm doing to trade. Seriously. We need to be able to just list things and have them sell. We need to buy things without interrupting another players game session. I've heard that developers consider this interaction. No. It's not. Interaction and community building happens through shared experiences. Not through buying and selling items. Come on. Make it happen. |

" The economy will be ruined whether we have to jump through 20 different hoops to trade or not unless they get rid of all the botters that are or will be flooding the auction house with low priced items so they can take the currerncy and sell it on their websites for real money. All I am asking is to simplify the process of grabbing an item and not have to worry about the person on the other end being a knucklehead. |

" that was for Poe 1, beside that currency exchange is a thing now. so they have already done what they said they would not i am stuck in the same place for ages because crafting hasnt yielded me anything good nor has the drops and my luck finding currency is no where to be found, so crafting to begin with is no fun all in all, with the trading system and my luck the game is not that fun as it is. if they only look at the people who go on the internet and write about the trading they miss out on the majority of players, it is the minority that actually comes to the forum, reddit or where ever they go to complain, suggest and give feedback beside they lost the war on trading tools, bots and in general people who just likes to trade. there is absolutely no reason to still hold that philosophy on trading beside PoE 2 item upgrades are way fewer and harder to get than in poe1 |

" That's your opinion, but GGG has reminded us many times that that's not their philosophy. And I agree with them. You only need to see Last Epoch or WoW to understand that the AH is a very bad idea. |

" if they actually made it an Auction house/listing house, and removed the trading between strangers it would weed out alot of the real money transactions. then what about if you wanna give an item to your friend, well he aint a stranger and you have added him to your friendlist, and you could easily add the rule to the game that atleast 24 or 48 hours is needed to be on the friendlist before trading between the 2 players was possible that means if those real money traders wanna sell to you both the player and the trader has to be befriended for a while before doing the trading, that would also make it easier to catch them. How so you may ask. well no normal player befriends 100 people a day and trade. so now you know who is doing some IRL trading. now it is easier to figure out who is what. and can be banned by IP/hardware id and account if needed |

Making trade instant as currency would be a blessing, without teleporting back and forth with additional loading screen times, not to mention that poetrade site is not great. I mean, I remember years ago there was a site called poetrade and it looked much better than the current one. It's 2024, time to move on, please...

" There is no immersion argument. You have to tab out of the game. The game is played solo by 90% of the player base because group play is even harder and less rewarding. They intentionally discourage player interaction. There just should be an auction house. Add the gold tax from the currency exchange on it and that will help with bots. I hate to say it guys but there are things in this game that seem to be exclusively designed to waste your time without providing anything fun about it. All of act 2 is a perfect example. They added 2 extra loading screens to something that was just clicking a waypoint in act 1. They know trading wastes your time and keeps you in the game longer. They know having relics only drop in the trials wastes your time. They know waiting for on death effects on the floor to clear wastes your time. They know open empty maps that drop almost nothing wastes your time. GGG has kind of locked it in with this game that they 100% do not care about your feedback or if you are having fun. They will eat up as much of your time as possible and make money while they do it. You will never get an auction house. They have an entire line up of streamers whose livelihood depends on not giving up on this game so they will always have a large group of vocal people saying "oh it's not so bad." |
