I say this because I referenced Kripp earlier on the forum and of course the know-it-alls told me off for it.
Kripp is one of the all time ARPG legendary players. He is a world class build maker too. If there is one streamer you should listen to, its him.
Either GGG can keep it as is more or less, and lose 95% of its player base within 3-4 weeks, or they can engage with the actual majority of players.
They'll have all the data of course.
For me, I hope they find a way to make everyone happy.
Maybe a ruthless non-hardcore mode like it was at launch is the best idea.
I'm so sick and tired of elitist gamers sitting in moms basement playing 15 hours a day telling my how I should enjoy the game.
If I prefer "zoom zoom zoom", that's my prerogative. It doesn't make my opinion of the game or what constitutes fun more or less valid than yours.

Not "Elden path" or "Souls of exile".
I like to be challenged sometimes. But not all the damn time. Sometimes I like to relax, blast a few maps, and I'd like to do that in POE2.

If you don't like that, how about suggesting for GGG that they keep the current style in a game-mode, rather than telling me I'm a bad gamer or wrong.
If zoom zoom zoom is your prerogative - then yes play POE 1. You're missing that POE 2 WAS supposed to be an "Elden path" or "Souls of exile" game NOT another POE 1. It was NEVER supposed to be the next POE 1, which is why it went from an update to a new game. If you want to mindlessly zoom around, play POE 1 - otherwise stop trying to bring POE 2 down to your level. Let other games exist. It's just greed at this point lol from POE 1 players. Agreed. The thing I noticed is branding anyone who doesn't like PoE2 as people with no skill.
And most of this branding is done by people who have no interest or knowledge on the background.
It is very early days (literally).
Many (not all) PoE1 players understandably are unhappy that other than the VERY misleading name, PoE2's continuity or similarity to PoE is so minimal, PoE2 is a new game. This angst could have been avoided by GGG if they just had renamed it when they announced it will be a new game. Maybe it was intentional, (the founding GGG person has cashed out few months ago) to ensure PoE players continue to FUND the development of this new game, who knows.
Many new players to PoE2 still post in general forum oblivious to these separate forums. Reddit is the same?
So yeah PoE2 IS NOT LIKE PoE1, except in name.

If you think that the loot change had anything to do with concurrent player count then I have some news for you.
They balance based off numbers, but not numbers that have literally nothing to do with the changes.
GGG are not as catatonic as many of the forum members. They know that adjusting the loot to the degree that they did will not change player retention that drastically, and they very likely aren't concerned about the concurrent player count for a paid early access to their free game.

How would you feel if I told you to f off to POE1 ruthless mode if you enjoy the current style of POE2?
I spent more than 1000 dollars supporting GGG over 10 years.
I spend 100 dollars on POE2 to support that.
I have a right to have a legitimate voice, just like you do.
But instead of telling you to shut up and play another game, I'm advocating for *gasp* DIFFICULTIES implemented! That way BOTH you and I can enjoy POE2.
Shocking, isn't it?
