Please remove any costs to redistribute passive skill points
First of all i wanna say i'm in love with the game, i didn't play much of POE 1 but i'm hooked with the new game of the franchise; With all that said, having to spend gold to redistribute points in the passive skill tree is garbage.
This mechanic only affect people that are trying new things, experiencing new builds, new gameplays etc. and will make more players go after premade builds in the internet since they will have less to lose this way. I don't care about having a NPC allowing you to respec, but having to spend gold is an outdated mechanic that does not serve any purpose other than draining gold itself, but if you guys need to make it more valuable this is definitely not the way since it's going to punish people that are actually in love with the game and are trying to discouver new cool things whithin it. Anyway this is how i feel, give it a thought and thanks again for this amazing and passionate game. Last bumped on Dec 16, 2024, 5:59:27 PM

Yes passive kill reset should be free.
The number one problem with POE1 was if you didnt play a meta build you simply "lost the game". Charging for changing the skill points prevents players from exploring interesting and fun combos (solo or with friends). |

This would ok for the first couple weeks but it needs to cost something.

If it was 50% of the cost it would still be too expensive.
10% would be a good compromise OR the ability to refund a node at current cost but it also refunds anything "cut off" for free. IE you could refund your first ever point and it undoes the whole tree |

" By that logic there should be no respecing, period. But there is, for gold, meaning all it does is adding tedium in form of grinding gold to respec. I am level 55 and it would cost 100k to respec my passives to try another build, but i dont have that, so am forced to farm gold with my shitbuild. Games should be first and foremost about fun and the fun in PoE is about experimenting and pushing your build by tweaking and stuff. Sure it would make gold somewhat obsolete, but there are other avenue to use gold like gamble for gear, maps etc. Last edited by nokz#6226 on Dec 10, 2024, 10:26:27 PM

" What is this nonsense? He asked for a reason, give a real reason please. In an early access game like this where things can change quickly, respec should be free. This encouraged players to try different things which allows the devs to get more feedback and understand the system better. This is early access, and feedback should be the number 1 priority for making the best game possible. The biggest reason I never got into PoE1, was that I shouldn't try to figure things out on my own, I should simply go copy the optimal way to play. I'm ok with not playing optimally if that means I can experience things and figure things out on my own. When all I do is copy/paste something, there's very little enjoyment in the process as opposed to learning and understanding how things work. When I am actively punished for experimenting, then I won't experiment and I won't enjoy the game. If everyone plays a cookie cutter style, it's only a matter of time until it is nerfed. Then players are upset because not only are they less powerful, they have to spend time/resources to adjust. There is no reason for respec to cost. If PoE2 needs gold sinks, then make proper gold sinks that people want to spend gold on. Using respec as a gold sink has no bearing on the economy of a powergamer but a massive impact on a noob. Noobs deserve more help, not less. |

" It doesn't make sense to me, you have this massive tree with lots of possibilities why do i need to compromise and not experience all that is available? Or in this case, why does it need to have a cost attached to it? If you think about, the items that you craft are already the "compromise" for that specific build that you're making, since it's gonna match or raise the stats that you need. |
