Who was POE2 made for?

I get it, you want the game to be more hardcore. But it goes way beyond hardcore and into the realm of straight up tedium.

I just don't understand why you made it ruthless basically. POE1 proves that very very few people actually enjoy ruthless, certainly not enough to keep you guys in business. So why design an entire sequel game around that? You will absolutely not have the playerbase to support the game long term. This is not a wild ass guess, it is literally proven by looking at ruthless.

Are you just going to funnel all the funds you get from POE1 players into keeping your undesirable vision alive in POE2? What is your goal? Please at least tell us. Because right now, the way the game is designed, it completely disrespects the vast majority of the people who have supported you for the last 10 years.

I am not saying, not to experiment and try knew things. But if you are going to make a game you know POE players won't like, using the funds from those same POE players. At least have the decency to be straight up with them and say this is not a path of exile game, this is not an ARPG looter. It just feels dishonest and like a slap in the face to call the game POE2. And don't say you shouldn't compare it to POE, of course you should.

As one of the 80% of players who came back most leagues but stopped playing after finishing the campaign and starting mapping, it seems like it was made for people like me.

I love this game so far, it's so hard! I love how they leaned into the tactical gameplay, I've found it a lot of fun so far. I love that the measure of my build isn't how well I can face-tank everything or kill it before it hits me.

I'm also coming from a place where I understand we're seeing less than half of the total skill gems, classes, and a ton of other features that should be coming soon enough. I also understand that we're still in the process of balancing the game.....

Since I never played PoE 1 to be the first to 100, or to get the most currency or whatever, I just came back each league to play it. Maybe that's why I'm loving this game so much, the gameplay is involved and I'm just enjoying playing it.
For those who enjoy it. Simple.
it is a path of exile game, it is an arpg looter and it is being enjoyed right now by a ton of poe fans.

poe1 was rly hard at first, people used to bunch up around pressure points like act bosses and try to get into a public group who could carry them through because piety etc would just obliterate them back in the day.

then we learned how to play, a meta developed.

i think people need to stop thinking they know how to play this game because its poe and remember its a new game and you need to learn it again. and its poe, which means no you dont know what you are doing yet, its been a couple of days since release.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Where ?

You still have to dodge slams and one mechanics, just like poe1
You still have to deal with burst windows, just like poe1
You still are at a disadvantage if you play melee warrior ...

Not much have changed regarding bossing, except your character is much slower, with no damage early on.

Actually, it was made for newbs and casuals. See, GGG realized that the first Path of Exile was bloated and its story is kinda tacked on. They made interview videos explaining this. They're still on YouTube.

The first game is also very, very complex, which is scaring off people from trying it. And a company wants more people to play it, to pay for their MTX (Which is how GGG makes money), so they change PoE2 from an expansion pack to a full on game.

Another thing they wanted to change was how to actually reach End Game for Path of Exile, you have to build specifically, you can't really experiment. Which led to the creation of programs like Path of Building, and GGG does not like this.

Ergo, Path of Exile 2 is meant for casuals and newbs. To be fair, and I need to remember this myself, this is Early Access. Yes, they're selling us MTX already which usually means it's a fully functional release, but it's not and it needs a lot of fine tuning.
