OK I give in, this is just not a game for ARPG fans

I just want them to improve the passive tree so that I can actually effectively scale corrupted blood and other such skills. I also want more nodes that refer to mechanics of various weapon types(I see no slam nodes for instance) and I want there to be actual sustain in the tree outside of recoup/ES.

Click on the search bar, type 'slam', look for flashing icons. They are there.

While I wouldn't complain about better drops even I [with no skillz] can mostly get by.

I think the situation will shift dramatically IF people start leveraging the trade site DURING the campaign instead of waiting for maps (or trying to snipe something).

If a sorc drops a nice rare weapon with flat damage, %damage, and one or two other good mods instead of them disenchanting it for a regal shard that drop could hit the market and your melee character may pick up a nice bonking stick for a song -- the sorc will also profit nicely so it's win-win.

IF I was leveraging trade instead of trying a more craft myself, check vendors religiously, ID anything with a "good base", etc. I suspect I'd be MILES ahead of where I am now.

How are you going to trade if you aren't getting the drops to get the currency or are good enough to offer in exchange?

You got your game with PoE1. Let me have mine, GGG has spent the last 6 years alienating my entire guild back to Diablo 2. They brought us back with ruthless, they hella brought us back with PoE2.

While I am a former D2 HC ladder player and also just did a SSF Ruthless run I sympathize with your position. I don't personally feel that PoE1 is the [perfect] game for me -- but at least it has the depth & complexity that D2 is lacking just without some of the old fashioned D1 & D2 feel.

So I do want mapping to be hard, I do want to feel like I've earned every bit of progress that I've made. If it's a choice between PoE1 and PoE2 then PoE2 is the game for me.

Unfortunately there are some things that I'd prefer be de-emphasized that are getting in the way of my enjoyment.

So I'll ask you and all the PoE2 lovers to do what you can to make reasonable accommodations for someone looking for something better.

Thanks for coming, bye bye. Now, the rest of us can enjoy the game.

I am getting enough drops to significantly improve my character via trade. Not "items" per-se [only had two of those] but moreso with currency. Basically I'm happy to buy someone's leftover "garbage" that's significantly better than anything i've got for an Exalt or whatever.

On the "beta??" trade site it at least looks like I could wildly improve my character just for the crafting money I gambled [and wasted] on trying to make decent blues into good rares.

EDIT: Trade is a mechanic that I've failed to leverage ... IF the trade site is up I don't intend on repeating that mistake.

I'm currently procrastinating on redoing the act 2 boss. ~144K health for a second act boss is absolutely unhinged.
For me, Diablo 2 was paced nicely with bosses. POE1 seems nicely paced with bosses, and allows you to farm around to gain power to deal with difficulty spikes. But having to fight so many bosses every time you turn around with the colossal difficulty spike climbing ever higher each time, this game is exhausting and very stressful to me. Not everything needs to be a towering Stay Puft foe to wipe out your stash trying to tune your build to fight it, but that's what GGG wants, apparently.

I joined this site in 2012, though I somehow put off playing POE1 until just three weeks ago. I like it and find it charming, relaxing, interesting and fun with the heaps of stuff to do and find. I wasn't stressed in every map trying to find ways to progress, I just played and kept doing so to get ahead.

I don't know what to do with POE2 at this point. The fact they applied a patch almost 24 hours ago that is faulty, then just leave it up while we stew in the forums isn't sitting too well with me. I know GGG is a fantastic studio with loads of talent, they will iron this mess out over time. The question is, however, will I like and agree with their vision and design philosophies with POE2? Probably not from what I can tell.

You'll always have PoE 1 where you can press a button and explode a full screen of mobs with zero skill involved.

That's what ARPG are all about, progress your character to a point where you become a god living among mere mortals, one tap and clear 3 screens.
No it isn't. That may be what some of them became, mostly because companies wanted to bring in low skilled casual players lol. PoE2 feels like it goes back to the roots of the genre, and its wonderful. Stick with your slot machine simulator and let the rest of us have an actual game please.

If your damage is low, you gotta figure out why. When the game has been out longer and there are more build guides it will be a lot easier.

I keep seeing this but there is no actual way to figure out why because...

Oh wait I just used all my skill gems on these skills and I can't kill shit. So I can't kill shit to get new skill gems to figure out why I can't kill shit.

Seriously you would think people that claim are capable of building complex PoE character builds could figure out something as basic as this.

POE1 also started out going back to its roots, but the changed course when it wasn't getting the results they wanted. That inherently isn't wrong, but it is not an approach for a live service game, that needs a player base to keep coming back every new season/league and repeatedly run the campaign to get to the endgame. It also isn't the year 2000 anymore and the game landscape has changed drastically.
