Killed Balbala, looted trial key, no change in quest status. Can't even travel to the trial area in cruel.

Tried killing her again, tried talking to all NPCs, tried opening and then closing an act 2 trial then killing her again, tried killing her in a party.

Finally tried deleting the trial key and killing her again, no drop. quest still stuck.

*** YOU CAN STILL ASCEND *** You need to loot a djinn barya randomly with high enough level, or do a high enough level ultimatum in act 3. Read the wiki.

Glad we get a choice to do ultimatum, sekhema is torture

I don't know if someone already answered in this thread but there are no quest keys for the trials in the "Cruel" difficulty. You should only be accessing the Trail of Sekhema and the Temple of Chaos in the normal Act 2 and Act 3. The rules for ascendency change depending on how you went about getting your first two points, but generally a 3 Floor Djinn Barya or an area lvl 70 Inscribed Ultimatum are needed for your third and fourth ascendency. This does not work. I tried a 3 floor Djinn in normal - no ascendancy points received upon completion.
