Difficulty/Loot are fine
" I beat the act 2 boss in 1 try. It is a level and stat based game, so some people simply need to get some more levels and maybe rethink if they need some more damage nodes instead of just bashing their heads against things forever. |

It wasn't even that hard. I was maybe 2 levels above recommended.

" /nodders Yeah, I like thinking about the skills as well. All my deaths so far have ended in either, "I shouldn't have done that," "I should to change this support to this skill," or something along those lines. |

Difficulty will be fine once the skills are balanced and loot is increased 50% - x2 more.
A big issue of ARPG is that the difficulty is only limited by one shot. The dodge system and the overall life of each monsters makes it that there is player skills involved now, this is great. However with the current loot system, even veteran ARPG gamer are getting stuck. The issue is that the loot is so low, there is no point in trying to farm better gear in previous zones to try to get by because you will get 2 white and a currency to reroll a single item by playing 30 min |

The difficulty is mostly okay, the numbers just need a little tweaking.
Gear would be fine if they greatly increased currency drops, since they aren't common enough still to craft with, especially since there are no regrets or alts and once you craft on gear, it's permanent |

I'm having zero difficulty issues, but gearing and drops are NOT fine. I've seen maybe 10 rare items the whole game so far that's absolutely fucked.
I expect them to fix this quite immediately... it feels very very very bad. I still have Act 1 gear on in act 5.... |

" Why do you assume that it will change your experience of the game? Are you familiar with the concept of difficulty select screens? Often it says on normal difficulty "this is the intended experience" meaning the game was designed around this difficulty in mind. We already have this in game as you can choose to make it harder on yourself. What would it change for you if somebody chooses a league that is easier? Are you forced to use that? |

The game is too hard. Especially melee, especially random packs.
I like the concept of white knights. A lot of the people who say it is a good game are people who play too many games or maybe have the button reflexes of a teenager. It doesn't matter if you can dodge block or do anything else if the game feels like it hands you a rusty butter knife to fight off mobs. One of the things Diablo got right was a difficultly ramp. There should be a way to play the game that doesn't involve so much button mashing. |

Love the difficulty; I hope they don't take it down too much, that it never becomes a walking sim like POE1 and bosses remain unnerving on hardcore. Don't care if they add a separate difficulty, provided they don't make it the default or affect my economy.
What I hate is the pacing. With the Sorceress as an example, you have very few choices in skills overall for a given element, etc., and they are spread out over ~50 character levels, which is way higher than other ARPGs, so you're stuck with 1 or 2 skills to use for large level gaps. This would not be as bad, except that the exp is quite low and the game much slower, and the way they keep us growing or even barely-reasonably geared through the campaign is by having massive zones full of 200x basically the same monster packs on repeat, with some ugly wandering sessions if I missed 1 little corner of a map. I recall the dreadnought actually giving me a headache because of the 30 mins straight of the same screaming monsters and roaring of the moving vehicle which was somehow 4x as wide and 50x as long as the NPC caravan. Had to turn the volume way down. If they upped the exp and currency drops substantially then shrunk zones between 10-60% on an per-zone basis, I'd be enjoying the game a lot more. This would also solve the difficulty for some percent of players as it would not be as painful to grind an extra level or two and craft before re-attempting a boss. |
