GGG - despite all the criticism, please don’t do this!

While I agree with your overall sentiment, OP, you definitely have one thing wrong: it's not the new and inexperienced players who are mad, it's the ten thousand hour PoE1 players who spent years and years failing to get good.

All of the new players I know playing this game are absolutely loving it. The pushback really is coming from guys who never made a build of their own, much less took it into pinnacle content, and despite the fact that this alone should be evidence that they're not good managed to delude themselves into thinking they're pros just because they can follow a build guide.

And honestly, a lot of those guys will come around after the build guides start being made and they don't have to make decisions.

People seem to blame the game and not themselves allot. If you hard having trouble, find out why.

Level up, refine build, grind gear (crazy right). All problems solved after that.

The fact you have to think more in this is hard for many. Like using cold resist rings on act 1 boss fight for example, makes him so much easier if he does less dmg by playing the game as intended

Rings would be great. I'm halfway through act 2 and yet to drop a single ring or amulet. No cold res ones at the vendor either. Gamble one? hell nope. not enough gold for that. I'm having to use all my gold trying to get upgrades at the vendor.

There is a balance issue between drops / upgrades and game difficulty. While all the hardcore players might be finding this easy the majority are not. Player retention will suffer if there isn't either a difficulty review or a loot review asap.

Running solo is brutal and up to now just punishing and not fun as it should be. I don't play games to spend hours slogging through 'dark souls style'. This is a game that has a history of restart economies, If this is what people will have to endure every league I can't see it doing well long term.

so you saying th people who suppoterd GGG all those years are just crap players and should shut up whining... good luck with that.
I find it ironic that on a feedback forum—where the entire purpose is for players to share their genuine thoughts on Path of Exile 2—we have threads like this that outright dismiss and insult others for providing the feedback they’re asked to give. Just because someone’s experience or preferences differ doesn’t make their feedback any less valid. If the intention of this space isn’t to listen to a wide range of perspectives, then what’s the point of having a feedback forum at all?

100% agree, drops are tuned low and are def causing delays and difficulty due to them.

I grinded for the rings i needed and i keep em in my inventory for any fight i need em. 2 of each. Found 0 chaos res ones but have 2 of the others.

The game isn't difficult, I haven't died once cause of a mob

it's just that the game feels repetitive and there's no loot dropping in a looting game. When I clear out a map, I get nothing

Also there's no currency to trade and no movement skills to make your character move and to make the game fast paced
The issue for me is not the enemies themselves but rather the player character.

1:Loot drops are almost never magic or rare, this is especially a problem when playing a martial and ABSOLUTELY NEEDING REGEN. We are talking about a stat that is so important that you would take a terrible base just to get it, this is a game where white mobs can chunk half your health bar, recovery is mandatory.

2:On that note, regen is not on a common early rune and is very hard to find on the tree, this is especially odd as you can get up to 50% recoup on the tree yet other recovery options are severely lacking. I should note that this is very odd given that ES exists and CI also exists, implying the devs expect you to get more ES than health at some point, yet they do not give life a similar level of recovery.

3:Even on the matter of damage, it is very hard to find nodes that specialise in a certain kind of damage as almost all of them are generic to the point that you could use any weapon with them, "melee" nodes are almost non-existant, "elemental" nodes are only found on the top of the tree and the nodes that do exist are so poorly connected that you are better off going for different nodes. What is the point of the weapon swap if all the nodes for the secondary element are so far apart that both trees are likely to end up identical as you just picked the generic nodes?

while you're right, the feedback provided by poe 1 players is inherently less valuable because it was obvious from the beginning that poe 1 players aren't going to like poe 2 anyway, as poe 2 isnt really made for people who enjoy the play style of poe 1, it's made for those who dislike poe 1.

You should never base diffculty on your own skills but on the masses as they will be the ones who keep th game going.

You are just a single player though. And they'll do the best to get as many hooked as possible. I am not saying what will happen, but you wanting the game to be a certain way doesn't mean much.

Look at the numbers – if the majority of people didn’t like it, would the game have 80% positive reviews on Steam and such a large player number? I don’t think so.

Why do you mindlessly parrot player count like it isn't the first week of launch and people are checking out the product they PAID for. Check it in a month and you will be singing a different tune. Then you will see what retention is.
