I want to love poe2 but ..

I love PoE and hands down it looks amazing.

The boss fights look AWESOME, but I can't help it, I ended up hating every single one of them.

I'm expecting dodge roll to work better and go further and be as responsive as it was in PoE 1. But it fails me significantly in every tough encounter.

The difficulty scaling, I don't really mind. But it feels very game breaking when you hit a wall multiple times before you hit level 16.

Having to backtrack to other areas to creep XP and gain levels, or to get items you didn't get along the way is not a positive experience. Because you get more progression then drops, it makes it even harder to follow the story because you get futtbucked by random drops not being in your favor and you stay behind on gear.

I love PoE for the option to experiment with builds, but when you hit a wall that early it's hard to experiment with build choices when you've barely unlocked stuff.

15-20 attempts on the Graveyard boss and 15-20 attempts on the Pit wolf is just Horrible. And logging off because you didn't complete something feels flat out not good. In PoE1 that was a choice because you decided to overreach or challenge yourself, but when it's just due to following the story and experiencing the game for the first game, it sucks.

I do not mind this difficulty scaling at the later levels, but not this early.

I don't understand game devs obsession with making things soul like.
I fully agree. It has not been enjoyable at all.
Haven't had a problem with it and enjoy the roll button.
I feel the boss fights are much better experiences.
I like the difficulty as well.
From all streams i've watched it seems melee atm is very clunky and ranged is smooth

because Souls are incredibly easy to program, and they use an old strategy from cartwheel-era games: hiding how shallow the game is by creating progress barriers.
- see, every Soulslike is so shallow that its content lasts MINUTES, but the game is punishing and not only that, but everything in it is a huge waste of time, if you make a small mistake it means losing 30~40 just to get back to where you were, so a game whose record is 40 minutes starts to seem like it lasts 40 hours.
- many of these games have systems to punish players who progress quickly, I remember an old game (Spyro if I'm not mistaken) that had an algorithm that made the gameplay worse and worse as you progressed without dying, to the point that if you reached a certain boss without dying you lost the save because it was LITERALLY impossible to kill the boss.

There are a lot of console players. Console players love Souls Like (due to controller limitations they have no choice). We want a lot of money. We will make Souls Like and console players will buy the game.
I was afraid they were gonna force ruthless POE 1 down our throat, but this even exeeds my expectations.

Not fun to me at all in this state.

Can we have POE 1 season now pls?
The biggest problem is the game is not targeting the same player base as PoE 1. PoE 1 players are not that interested in learning boss mechanics at the scale and number of boss fights that you face in act 1. Combine with this a really crappy dodge skill compared to the movement abilities we used to have and you are going to get a lot of frustrated players. I logged off after trying the act 1 boss several times and I think I'm good until they make some changes. PoE used to be a fun game you can play and somewhat turn your brain off. This is definitely not that game and I can imagine many PoE 1 players are not going to continue with it.
