STEAM KEYS > We all paid for them right? Where did they go?
Don't know why... If you want to start tomorrow (in case the servers do not fry up), maybe the standalone client is your only option, unless downloading it again is an issue.
Good luck! |

Have any statements been made as to when the next batch of Steam Keys will become available??
I wish they'd have mentioned [before purchase from GGG] that they could run out of Steam keys. Silly me assumed I had a key reserved for "me" ... not sharing a pool of keys with everyone and that they might actually run out of keys and not get new ones for what ... a couple of hours now? More?? |

Steam HQ is in the US and its currently night time here. If they did need to resort to manual key requests then they're waiting for somebody at Valve to do it manually. We now understand why Valve discourages using steam keys for public betas.

I'm betting part of the problem is that a ton of people bought extra keys. There's one thread in the steam forum of a dude giving away 86 extra keys. Multiple other threads of other people giving away extra keys as well. Very admirable and generous, but also slightly annoying. Not that I would have been able to put any decent time into it tonight anyway, but it still would have been nice to start the download.

the 86 keys giveaway among many others is a joke, lots of people are trolling poe noobs. I cannot claim my steam key on GGG as well. They need to post a 2nd video to youtube about the ongoing key shortage!

While I completely understand the frustration and think that the entire premise of needing a key to access a free resource on steam (that you cant even access without a second account login in game anyway) is dumb, I still highly recommend getting the standalone client anyway.
For all the convenience that a platform like steam brings, it also brings the specter of account closure, platform-level failure, and other such things. You can set up third party games to open from within steam anyway, meaning the only "benefit" to it over the direct client is automatic updating. But in PoE, I found the direct client a boon, because typically I just set the torrent and went to bed, then woke up an hour before and was done and in queue. |

The absolute dummies around here…
It’s very simple, if you buy a pack on PoE 2’s steam page, you get it on steam. If you buy it outside of there, you get the standalone. GGG allow you to also get it on steam even when you haven’t directly bought it on steam, but that’s using a limited number of keys. They run out for now, they’ll come back later. If you wanted on steam that badly, you should’ve bought from the steam store lol Last edited by VulpineKitsune#0076 on Dec 6, 2024, 4:01:11 AM

Yea, I did not buy it from steam cause I want to support GGG. Buying from steam = 30% of what you pay goes to them, not GGG. So please, stop acting like a smart ass, cause you are not.
So basically, for trying to support GGG, I will not be able to play tonight. I will have to wait a couple of days. That sucks. And some of us use Steam cause we can play the game on Linux. " |
