Sweep was supposed to be temporary...temporary!

Don't you hate it when you are riding a particular set of skills just in preparation for busting out the meat of the build you have planned, however the longer and longer as things go on. The RNG kicks you in the nuts, or things just aren't working out like you hoped and despite your best efforts, your planned build refuses to be more successful than the temporary one you've been using to level up? Any hilarious stories involving this?
Maybe I can ride sweep all the way to lvl. 80!

I have to add this since a lot of people aren't quite getting the point of my post. I am not posting because I am trying to build around sweep or I think sweep is good. I am just talking about how its amusing when you use a leveling setup, as I am sure you all have, and it can sometimes be rocky transitioning into what you actually had planned for the character. I know some people keep bringing up better "leveling" skills in this thread but that isn't what the point of it was.
The point was that sometimes you use those skills to level and then it sucks when what you originally planned just doesn't work out and you have to keep riding them longer than you anticipated because you don't get the proper gear or something. That is my issue, RNG has been kicking my ass on this self found character.

Sweep will always suck in my eyes, unless you dedicate all your passive nodes and skill gem slots into increasing it's AoE to be a psuedo-range skill.(like the lightning strike projectile debacle)

Well I was only using it temporarily. However, because it still one shots everything in act 2 cruel, its still heavy strike and sweep from here on.

If you need to use another skill in order to kill things faster, why bother with the skill you couldn't use to do that job?

Most melee aoe skills are like that, I didn't have a problem with sweep until merciless act 2. Sweep is decent if you have a really good weapon, but if you're expecting it to kill everyone before you die, it's not gonna happen.

Because I am trying to create a build around it. If I am only going to use the most efficient thing to get any job done, I wouldn't even be making alternate characters. There is more to life than min/max!

You are actively dumbing your kill speed down for "variety". It's not gonna be a special snowflake character.

Also, you think Sweep is good so I dunno why I even bothered asking the above question.

No, but its more fun making unqiue builds rather than using a skill just cause its better, try to make underused skills good and thats fun. Its what im doing now, im trying to amke shock nova and coldsnap+RF really good

Isn't Sweep+Marohi Erqi+Knockback+Stun really good? Or is it just in every way inferior to ground slam?
