Did you play D2? What was your favourite class?

I finished game more that 1000 times with all chars, and I can say that i haven't got favorite one. All of them are fun to play.

Hmmm... its a close call between the trapper Assassin and the Druid (going mostly into the nature speels with some summoning - no shapeshifting) - yes i loved both expansion characters.

Summon necromancer by far. It got so absurdly fun with auras and enigma.

The PvP characters I played leagues with were a Bone Necro and a Tornado Druid. In PvM I enjoyed my summoning Necro the most.

I have played 2 and 3...but was sadly disappointed in 3 which is why i was going to try this....

As far as 2 goes.....my 3 favs build+class were...

1. Blizz sorc PvP

2. WW sin

3. FB Sorc

Diabloe 3 i hated so much but i guess.....witch doctor was ok.

My favorite class was the Amazon, and in particular a melee "build" called "Tankazon". Although for some people Tankazon meant using Javelins or Spears for me it was sword and shield. I also made a small "fan site" then which was called "The Tankazon Resource" which people from the Amazon Basin forum may remember. It was fun sifting through the spreadsheet data of the game and make some useful tables out of it.

Anyways I loved playing a melee zon, because of the crowd control aspect. I liked to think of it as the "trinity": the Amazon, the Valkyrie and the Mercenary... there was the Decoy too but it was not as useful.

For my melee zon to be viable in Hell difficulty required some of the best gear I could find, both for me and the Merc. My zon used the Lightsaber Phaseblade, and the Merc was equipped with The Reaper's Toll, which cast Decrepify on enemies greatly improving his survivability.

What made it interesting is that I'd say 80% of my damage came from the Mercenary, and I was actually tanking for the merc, or using the Valkyrie to take some attention off him, allowing the merc to destroy everything :) If I didn't use Valkyrie or myself to spread the damage, the merc would be stunned all the time when surrounded and die. Likewise when fighting bosses usually I'd try to stand as close as possible to Diablo or Baal, which would then turn their attention of the Merc, whom would just Jab at their should blades like there's no tomorrow :p

Amazona ranged/melee class hybrid...I liked it but it didnt work that well...
