New Weapon Types / Changes

Power syphon could work for both Wand and Thrown.

frenzy would work too, but 2 skills for a weapon makes them even more limited than claws lol. They would need to alter some bow skills to work for both... it could simply be a matter of the graphical portion being a bitch to complete.

Nah, that would make it OP, unless stuff was added to Wand as well
Because thrown using wand passives would need to have downsides if it was gonna use frenzy - wich wand cannot.

Well, let's keep going, shall we?

Glaive, fauchards, partisans, bec de corbins, guisarmes, lucern hammers, spears, and pikes (and a bunch I forgot) are all unique polearms that are all used in different ways and all should be added as new weapons of their own classes.

Meteor hammers are awesome; let's add those.

This game is also lacking in flails and throwing stars. They should both be new classes of weapons.

I don't see shotels, katanas, naginatas in the sword section. Add them.
Where's the flamberge and claymore in the two-handed swords?

My point is, I'm not against new weapons and new weapon classes, but there will always be more.

Here are the ideas I had:

My suggestions:

- Morningstar (really big!)
- Whip (possible niche weapon, between long and short range like not really "melee")
- Double-edged Sword (one blade at every end, 2-handed)
- Chakram (Circle-blade used by Xena)
- Trident (Weapon that Poseidon uses)
- Pillar(specialy for marauder, like vindictus karok),
- Schyte,
- Slingshot,
- Spears
- A magical Orb (Caster-weapon, flies around the character. Maybe offhand for casters?)
- Boomerangs
- A Dartshooting Bamboo thing / Blowpipe ( like a tube / adds chaos damage maybe )
- just for fun: Throwing Stones (like the guys in act I hahaha, that would be fun!)
- scythes
- nunchucks

I had posted this on another thread already I figured I would repost my suggestion, keep in mind POE doesn't need a lot of new weapons only a few will do more then enough to change the dynamics of this game.

Pole arms would be great partaking of dex and str requirements with medium attack speed, attack could be dealt a little further away, a medium range of damage, ex:20-50(hypothetical numbers)

I would also like to suggest:
Spears, only dex required with fast attack speed, could attack a little further away and a wide range of damage,ex:15-70

Crossbows, only str required with slow attack speed and a strong range of damage,ex:50-99

Be great to see different weapons even if it would be 1 or 2 it would greatly change the choices on builds in this game. The ''two'' supposed different sword classes is a bit of a joke, personally I have never found swords nearly as good as a mace or axe, they seem more like a novelty although I have had some pretty nice swords.


LOL Meerkatz13 throwing stones should be a skill on the passive tree:'' Stone thrower, sometimes a exile needs to cast the first stone'',Allows player chance to pick up a stone and throw at monster for chance of stun.

We already have 2 types of swords - str-dex and dex.
So why we dont have something like that in other weapon class?

Furthermore subject weapon class was usefull in real, and can be more usefull for adventurers due to wide damage radius and stronger hits duy to its long handle. (I'd prefer go against bear(other fantasy monster) with such poleaxe, not with sword, or especially thrusting sword))))

Its need a dex due to different from "2h axe" balance and lower weight. Furthermore due to this two reasons it suitable for fencing.

Japhasca, I'm talking of pretty strong, well-known and enjoyed archetypes.

Scythes and Spears are awfully under-represented in most settings.
They make extremely good weapons.

Some of what i had in mind.I also would like to see:

-sickle (dual wield-one handed)
-arm blade

-flail
-chains
-tabak toyok
-bladed whip (or even sickle on one edge)

-crossbow (two handed, one handed-dual wield)

these can have their own places in the passive skill tree.
