The 50% exp penalty is great and should go core!

I've not read up to date on this one but just wanted to +1 that 100 isn't hard even on HC, its an extremely tedious objective that takes far longer than its actual reward. Almost like it was designed to be optional to begin with :p

The whole 100 thing was better before rotas/5ways and FOMO made it look mandatory to normal players. It used to signify the difference between someone who loved few characters vs those that loved alts with the occasional ladder runner in there too.

That's it, It makes fuck all difference in the long run.

Agreed.

Level 100 on trade is so attainable it's more like a checkbox. Between Sanctum and Rotas for Breach/5ways, there's little risk to be had. It kind of devalues the achievement of actually making it to level 100

I just don't think the XP penalty is gonna change that.

As long as easy XP content exists, people will abuse it for leveling risk-free. Dying is not a part of that equation, so it doesn't matter if it's 10%, 20% or 100%

Some of us like to reach 100 without 5-ways.

I'd much rather get to 100 by running exciting (at least to me) content. I'll admit I did try 5-way rotations once, and it was the most boring thing I have ever done in this game, I'll never do it again. I also don't like Sanctum.

Running white or blue maps is not an option for me because again I'd find that boring and the XP per map must be really low. I'm mindful of the map mods, but I still run juiced rare maps to get to 100. Yes, I'll occasionally die as I'll often try to rush through them, but I take responsibility for that and find the present 10% penalty acceptable.

Having a larger penalty will make an already relatively long grind (which I like to a degree) into something much longer and not at all appealing to me.

Oh dude, same. I hit level 100 in HC Trade during Archnemesis league by spamming Strand with full sextants, legion, harbis + delirium because it was fun, profitable and exciting enough to not get boring. Way more fun than bleak rotas

And like I said, the XP penalty is not at fault. People just hate to take accountability for their RIPs.

First step would be to balance the game so thats out of the window already.

Pretty much stopped doign tanky character since I still got one shotted out of nowhere with the perk of grinding slower.

It doesn't matter if I die 5 times a map in TS im still going to make more money than with my EA champion.

Sure put a higher penality. Put it at 100% for all I care, I'll pay carry. Hell I already do.

Even if 5 ways/breach get killed there will always be easy way to get to whatever level I want than I'll go back to not giving a damn about dying.
Why am I still here

At some point you realize XP and level 100 are not a problem but the gear itself. If you play on regular basis you 100% know - 100% you're able to reach level 100 without issues, and at some point you don't care.

Yes, it's easy to play without one shots and not dying. Especially on trade league with abusers. You are supposed to build proper defences, it's your resposibility to have enough layers of defence to be protected against critical strikes, ailements, phys damage, spells. You're supposed to read the mods and not just blindlesly start 8-mod map not caring about your survivability. Delevel or remove all XP from current unfinished progress would be good.

Ppl playing HC have waaay higher risks, than losing tiny amount of XP. And we can see a lot of level 100 HC characters right now.

Look at the gear people who hit level 100 on Day 3 wear and tell me I'm wrong when I say that highend gear is a clutch and commitment and skill is the biggest contributing factor:

Of course the traders are way ahead of the SSF players, but that is the nature of things. But none of that gear is "insane"

Edit: I'd add momentary RNG to the list of things that can contribute to you hitting 100 / not losing XP. That, and for HC players also having a good, stable ISP lmao.
