The cosmetics in this game are terrible

Look at that and tell me it's alright. That isn't a ridiculous visual mess. Just a bunch of power rangers prancing around, there's no visual anything here, it's just noise. You are basically paying thousands to make noise.
To think PoE2 will from the get-go suffer from this is painful.
Those are some nice dragons.
Why am I still here

I see neither power rangers nor prancing. [Removed by Support] maybe stop worrying so much about what others are doing when it doesn't actually affect you in any substantive way.

You can't make anything out when there are half a dozen or more characters all standing on the same spot and clipping through each other, and that's true even without all the cosmetics. Would you prefer players not be able to clip through each other, and thereby be able to body block each other from accessing the stash or NPCs?

Also, no visual information, just noise, pretty much describes most of what you see when running any of the content in this game, so the noisier their outfits, the more they fit right in.
Fairgraves was a slave trafficker specialized in the kidnapping and transport of children. He was not "a good man".

I recently re-installed the game and when i reached lioneye's i found myelf surrounded by some surrealist garbage. Wings as big as the screen and some other visuals that would make Diablo 3 blush. They are ugly, tacky, means nothing (since those characters could be naked and lvl 2), betrays any semblance of integrity the setting is supposed to have and clutters the screen for everyone else.
PoE1 is kind of a lost cause at this point but at least try to tone it down a bit for PoE2, please! It could be even better if you found a way to tie visuals to the itemization itself but at least keep the tone consistent, it really takes people out the game.

What integrity? You are a naked exile in a gritty world, then almost immediately start shooting lighting/ orbs/ lazers/ whatever from your hands/ eyes/ weapons, moving ground with hits and 5 minutes later you teleport around freezing or burning stuff on the way. It doesn't make sense anyway, and the mtx look fits all that much more than the basic look of characters.

Also, it won't be toned down for PoE2, as microtransactions carry over.

I agree but mainly with over the top wings and most character effects.

They are usually the most noticable+disruptive from a visual standpoint.

Most armour sets themself look pretty solid and would fit the theme of POE except some outliers like the clown costume or the space power ranger one.

Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks
It would indeed be a nice feature if we could just toggle other peoples cosmetics off, especially with the grafx engine problems, being in towns is giving me a headache and makes me motion sick because my fps dip down into the 30's and all the effects going on, but it's not gonna happen, ggg wants to let people show off and you to get jealous and buy some yourself, ego is the biggest selling point.

I completely agree with you. It looks god-awful and tanks performance to boot. Wish we had a button to turn off that fugly stuff. It's fine if the owners want to look at the bling-bling, but why should everybody else? I'd like an OPTION to avoid it. Would make doing Heist and other hub zones more bearable.
Yeah, a toggle off option would be so great. You could at least see the game's actual gear instead of technicolor vomit.

Other option could be to redesign the way cosmetics work in the game and make them more part of the itemization. A different way to handle cosmetics (aside from designing them to be less over the top), especially in a game like this where trade and community are so important, you could:

-You buy/earn cosmetics and are added to your library of available ones.
-You apply them directly to a corresponding item (maybe using a currency).
-You can later trade that item if you want.

If you add some way of name personalization and make the currency relatively rare you can create some interesting tradable community customized things. You could find an incredible item, apply some troll visual and corrupt it, or have some awesome perfect armor that looks amazing on the market. Feels more involved and interesting than just throwing random junk.

Obviously, you wouldn't be able to do that in PoE1, but PoE2 is a fresh start and they could approach cosmetics in a more engaging way. But apparently it'll be rainbow vomit from the get go.

Can't you give them that tiny place in your life, when they bought some wings? To show them in the Town? It doesnt affect your gameplay, no risk to get attacked and die. Nothing. Please, give them some credit instead! Make a dance in front of them and try to be happy.
