Lip Plate in New Trailer

I'm just catching up with all the news, watching the streams, and I came across the "Path of Exile 2 New Gameplay Trailer | Exilecon 2023" in which a boss is shown (~1:13) - a genre-typical looking one (bulky, giant, ugly ... so far so good) - wearing a lip plate.

A lip plate is a very specific piece of tribal body modification, deeply associated with the African tribe of the Mursi for example.

I don't know if there are more characters in the game wearing these tribal pieces to even out the representation, but seeing this isolated on a oger-style boss looks questionable to me.

That is so incredibly biased and hurtful against ogres. You are applying your own eurocentric biases of beauty onto an Ogre that might very well represent the pinnacle of his species, and you belittle him! And you make judgments on his body augmentations without knowing anything about him, as if only one culture could EVER have something remotely like a lip plate...

Don't force your own inadequacies and fake outrage onto others.

If only oger bosses randomly have Native American headdresses, would you wake up?

I mean, I honestly don't expect you to.
If you don't create original content, and you copy something very distinct from an existing culture, you have to treat it with care. Maybe that sounds new to you – it isn't.
Slapping a lip plate on an oger-looking boss is just like using Maori insignia on nothing but enemies.

I'm not ruling out there is a diverse representation, when it comes to the headline, and we just haven't seen it yet. This is part of the question/feedback.

I made a screenshot of your post as prove that you try to "blackmail" people and try to disregard anyone that might change his mind in the future.

You are so far off base. I guess I should be mad that the big bad guys in act 5 are mostly religious white dudes. The turbo woke crowd is going to burn itself out here at some point so dont think those screenshots are going to do anything.

There is no reason to delete my response...there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Again, with your next post the only thing you do is point out YOUR OWN bias and prejudice, not anyone else's. So, congratulations on putting your own misplaced guilt on display here in a video game forum. Don't you DARE try to guilt or shame me, you know nothing about me, my race, my feelings, or my history. For all you know, I could be a member of a tribal community that has relics and important artifacts used in a different way in this game and other games. But you assume not simply because I don't share your fake outrage. All this is, is a fake and rather small attempt to make yourself feel more inclusive.

Did you even stop to think that PERHAPS someone on the development team has ties to the Mursi tribe and maybe likes the design of the Ogre boss so much that they wanted to include a piece of that culture? No? That thought never crossed your mind? It's likely not the case, but the fact that I am 100% positive you didn't even consider that points to YOUR personal hangups.
