Wait, No Scion?

They said 12 characters, which means each of the single and dual-stat characters and their alter-egos.

Which means we are not getting Scion in POE2.

That's a big bummer.

its not really that big of a deal. There are 36 ascendancies to choose from. The game is going to feel much different. They might introduce a scion in the future who knows.

From what I seen, it is going to be very much like a Dark souls game. There will be enemies you run into where weapon switching is going to be the difference maker as well.

There is no need. Maybe at one point, she was in POE2 as a mix of all classes like POE1.

But POE2 is its own game now.
I mean, to unlock the Scion u have to play the PoE1 campaign, right? Makes sense that there is no Scion :D

Jokes aside, I think GGG was never really happy with Scion since the Ascendancy Expansion. They tried to rebalance this class so much and it never really worked. It was either broken or inferior imo.

They literally could've made it the other int/dex class or something. No excuse.

Yeah, sounds right. I kinda always had the same feeling. Ascendant was your choice when you want to tune existing ascendancy in some aspects but really... 6*3 subclasses in the current state can always give you at least 2 or 3 different approaches to the build which feels more than enough. Scion isn't necessary in the game with 36 subclasses.
Scion never really turned out to be an interesting addition to the game. Almost every league I think "I should make a Scion, I haven't played one in ages", and then after a little bit of consideration and build planning I realise I...don't actually want to.

It was a nice idea, but I won't miss it.

This is the reason I stopped playing ESO. All this talk of weapon switching and rotations is a massive instant turnoff.
General discussion gaming forums are almost always a cesspit of ignorance and trolls.

ya i agree.

its a cool idea that just never really came together and made sense in practice imo.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
they confirmed no scion.

I think it's bullshit.

With all the mixed skill possibilities now a character with can use all stats would have seemed to me in a much better spot.

big bummer - I'm disappointed.
