Please provide a safe way to trade between permanent leagues in PoE1 and PoE2

One other thought, re the title, which make it very clear why this can never happen:

So far this has meant "a way of passing my good stuff from Poe1 to PoE2". WHich is bad enough, and implausible enough given how things as basic as e.g. chaos orbs have so hugely changed.

But "trade" can never happen, because what on earth goes the other way? No one can really believe that PoE1 would be reworked to handle anything - everything - from PoE2, surely? How could that even happen?

So why would they put in a one-way gateway to move broken gear, with all the old spaghetti of rules and leagues, into a clean new game designed to suppoer none of these?

i think they should ban all trade between poe1 and poe2, it should be considered external trading, essentially like rmt.

its a new game, new start, people shouldnt be able to buy 100 botted mirrors in standard and trade them over for 10 mirrors in poe2 and be kings of poe2 perm league on day 5 with some corrupt nonsense. i have mirrors in standard and countless mirrors in items, its not like i couldnt benefit from cross game trading. i just think it should be banned on principal, lets not ruin this new game from day 1 by allowing 10 years of botted currency held by cheaters and market barons in poe1 to flood influence into this new environment.

Upon release of POE2 there will only be one league. The permanent league for POE2 won't begin until the second league starts and the remnants from the first get moved there.

Do we know if there will be a permanent league in POE2? Might GGG just skip it with POE2 and avoid the ongoing headaches they seem to think it creates? It would be a ballsy move, but not entirely surprising.

I'd like to see GGG implement a program where players could turn in POE1 items they have in standard for a POE2 version if there is one. That way I could move my WoE axe from 1 to 2. This kind of program could be slowly implemented as old items make their way into the new game.
