Even though I am very disappointed by the decision to make PoE2 a separate game, I do get why they do this. And I am looking forward to PoE2. However, my main goal in PoE is to aquire wealth and cool stuff for the permanent league. This is what keept my motivation up for a loooong time. I get it that this is something that concerns only a minority. As a compromise I would consider the ability to trade between PoE1 and PoE2 permanent leagues a nice consolation. This should not hurt anyone not interested in permanent leagues while keeping at least some connections between the two games in permanent leagues. I highly doubt they will allow cross game trading what OP wants. That basically equals external currency. You start playing PoE2 league and you have nothing at start but you have thousands of currency in PoE1 standard and you just buy items in PoE2 from that budget is going to be a big problem. That kills the point of a fresh economy. It is unfair to players that farm properly in PoE2. It would be a thing on like TFT and I hope they will ban that. If Blizz releases a new IP in two years they can't just say 'oh well you played WoW for 15 years and DIV for 2 years, go ahead and trade all your stuff there for stuff here that's fine. Like that wouldn't be ok if any other publisher did a scheme like that. Idk maybe after running PoE2 released for a year or two if they wanted to add this feature that would be much more palatable. And empty remove-only tabs are not useful, and automatically deleted. Ultimately it's a different game: D2 not D1 (hmm, maybe that's hopeful). The old items are literally not usable, even if they have equivalents. Nor do I ever see PoE1 items being tradeable or transferable into PoE2. GGG are actually being generous in allowing point purchases to transfer - oh, maybe necessarily, because we've paid far more than any AAA title would have charged, and many of us wouldn't move if it meant losing them.
