Wish granted.

You know that your builds are glass canons and you build them that way on purpose, which is fine, but dont complain about one shots.
Glass Canon build have to get one shot by harder hitting mobs, because if they dont there is no need to build defense anymore making the Game more boring and less diverse as a result. | |
" Sigh... Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Poe is a really good game. But it allows the layer to create a bad build and it allows you to do content you are not ready for.
While i dont agree with some decisions they made in the past(looking at you tencent), its one of the best arpg ever made. I hope the new competition that d4 is bringing to the table will force ggg to release more enjoyable leagues for the average player. |

I agree
Where as Dark Souls is challenging but rewarding I have very rarely ever felt POE was rewarding more hard need more reward,if not will be boring |

your main char or atleast the one that is highest level has zero chaos res, or probably -60% to be more precise... which is amazing by itself considering you have lots of rare gear. you have no defence aura and you slapped abyssus on top of that. you have no block, life on block, max res or spell suppress.
weapons and dmg scaling is a mess too - ok, so you have phys as extra elemental but one million of zero is still zero. you have 2 overlapping guard skills and im pretty sure even the ingame tooltip states that you cannot have 2 guard skills at same time and they share cooldown. doubt you have any reliable source of end charges for immortal call and youre pretty low armor without determination to utilize molten shell. you dont have curse or mark skill, you have 3 life flasks and 2 dead links on your main skill.(rage and dmg on full life) hope that helps. |

First, a few things. I'm sure many will jump to my page to judge my builds etc. in a hurry to defend their game. Have fun lmao. They're from my recent exploits of screwing around and play testing if they're put together at all. You won't get anything useful out of that so you'll have to find better ways of attacking me while ignoring my words.
One important thing worth nothing about myself is my mention of glass cannon builds. I'm not unfamiliar with them and they're my preference for most games. However, unlike in most games the death of such a build is even more in the player's hands than other play styles and it's why for me it highlights cracks in the game. There are elements I can control and those I cannot. Right now, to refer back to my Dark Souls comparison, POE plays far more like the unfinished and much hated Bed of Chaos boss. *NB: For the smooth brains reading this I refer to Dark Souls as a common point of reference I imagine many are familiar with and Not because I want it to be said game. " This makes me think of a fantastic quote. "He's the product of the greatest minds of a generation working together with the express purpose of building the dumbest moron who ever lived." I'm sure POE was designed with a purpose in mind but if this is the desired state then, well lol. Look, the point isn't that it needs to be like X game but rather it should meet simple and basic premises that make people want to actually play. "oh, but I do!" yes, and some people are into scat but that doesn't make it good either. An intentional design or not doesn't make something good and POE's current end game state is not good. " I've played gatcha games that are less abusive in their randomized low odds nonsense. In all honesty, what even is the point of having fountains of items blow up in maps when the incredible vast majority of it is worthless? The very fact that filters even exist to screen it out is laughable. It's a bandaid solution to something that is clearly a problem. But you touched on something else that my wife and I got into last night after I made my post. You commented saying "POE is better when you can ID and use items." and you know what? As engaging as end game content can be at times, the most fun I or others I talk to about POE with is during the early game. Maybe not fresh out of Act 1 per say but early enough where the random garbage thrown up by defeated enemies is actually still exciting and you're allowed to really experiment with the skills and gems. It's a time when gains feel substantial and rewarding. And here's the thing, it's fine if there are hardcore and far more dedicated players. They should absolutely be rewarded for putting more into the game and their builds. What I'm advocating for is room to allow others to still get something out of the game towards the end. I've had too many conversations with people that say they'd love to keep playing but there's nothing left, they plateau soon after hitting maps. POE shouldn't have to be so unique that it chases away a player base that would otherwise like to stick around when it's a perfectly attainable goal for most games. Especially one like POE that has so much great work put into it. But man, as it is the entire draw of POE's awesome and expansive skill tree, it's long list of skills and supports, the combinations and possibilities there of, the fun of making your own build is just an outright lie. It's not there if you want to do end game content. "check out players like-" If a game requires, not benefits from, but requires following what others do outside of the game itself then it's busted in some way and needs to be fixed. It's telling someone to read a book to explain away the plot holes in a movie that left out key scenes. At the end of the day POE's biggest draw has always been it's skill tree, that was what set this apart back in the day and is still what it's most known for. The fact that cookie-cutter builds are required to push the higher end content shoots itself in the leg and always will. Combine that with an incredibly unrewarding loot system and it's no wonder it's always hobbled along on the periphery of gaming as a whole instead of sweeping aside far more mediocre games like Diablo. But hey, if that's the level of success GGG wants then whatever lol. So frustrating. So much potential just to see it squandered. It's no wonder I always check in from time to time. |

" That might be. I can't help but to think about that Churchill quote: " So maybe PoE's endgame isn't "good", but it's still the best endgame in any ARPG throughout history. Well, IMO. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

You have 1 character above level 90, and it's a completely jarbled mess. You've probably never played a character with properly set up defenses, and thus have never been able to play the most satisfying and rewarding content the game offers - but instead you play glass cannon, ZDps dysfunctional crap, then you get frustrated when you can't "progress".
Learn the game - learn how to scale and overlap your defenses and your damage, then you will have a better time. If you think you MUST be a "meta slave" to do anything in PoE, simply look what Mathil does every single league - he does all content with 15-20 different non-meta builds, because he understands the game. Anyone can get there, too, but you have to go through the learning process to get there, not just blindly flail your way through and hope you just brute force your way to success. |
