I'm pretty sure I've had enough...
I think I've gotten to the point where I am absolutely sick of one shots, these ridiculous mechanics where it doesn't matter where you are, stand, or try and dodge shit, anything and everything hits you no matter what. The degens are an absolute joke. It's not even fun anymore and to be in a boss fight for 10-15 minutes just to get trash loot is pathetic.
I could go on but will probably get sensored or removed by support. But I think I've just had enough...not burnt out, just sick of the mechanics. Last bumped on Jul 25, 2023, 5:33:23 PM

There are many factors into the game mechanics that contribute the so called "One Shot". But that in explanation can go in depth towards contributing to why it becomes a "One Shot"
As a business,Compensation is given in balance for their business as a strategy for growth and then your pleasure for any pure game balance. ultimately the mechanics would be designed in trying to keep you playing for longer. Research and experience over the years in what generates more business would ultimately determine the direction of POE. No matter what attempt anyone demands GGG to Balance their game without balance towards revenue should just quit before trying. GGG will never tell anyone the business side of it or how it effects the game and realistically they don't have to, cause that wouldn't be anyone else's business. So, effectively if they dont design the game in order to grow revenue there would be no money and even a game at all. As a business its clear what ever they doing is working for them and they know that better than any player here. |

My man you're an altoholic.
If I may give you one piece of advice, it would be to pick one character build and plan on playing it to at least level 95, then ask yourself what you want from your character: zoom farm (white) maps, bossing, a specific league mechanic, allrounder (with all the implied caveats). After that just pick a tried and true build and stick to it. The mechanics are your bitch, not the other way around. You do your homework, prepare for that boss that's kicking your ass, use specialised flasks, get immunities, kill them before they degen you. Your time is important king, even your game time, you can't go around running a lvl 91 char with ssf gear using the six portal strategy and then whine that it's too hard. Second-class poe gamer

Yo he actually opened his char now I can't bully him cause you know I feel he actually wants to know why or what is killing him and that's call in one picture
I'll assume this is his main char right here ![]() Zero physical mit LR is not capped for some unknown reason Low Chaos resist with 3k hp He doesn't have the damage to make up for the defenses being so weak so we got red flags all over already, If something blows on him or even a fucking tumbleweed hits him he just dies So OP you need to learn the defenses layer after layer read a youtube guide fix that stuff that is why you're soft-lime glass as I said the softest of the glass without any damage. Oneshots are the game's way of telling you that your build is garbage and you shouldn't be in this area. They can't make it more obvious than that because you specifically do not even get a chance at defending yourself through flasks.

It really depends on a lot of things, but from couple journeys to 100lvl via mapping, I can say there are only 3 things that you can trully control and that will help you avoid deaths:
1. Your character tankiness (max HP, evasion/Arm, Resistances, ailment imunities, poison/bleed imunities, chaos ress, block, suppress, endurance charges, curses, atlas passive, etc. etc.) 2. Content you are doing (dangerous map mods is no-go if you want to stop dying without crazy tankiness. When I was leveling to 100, I would simply run blue maps with 2 non-harmful mods). 3. Active avoidance / baiting attacks and moving - this is super important, to be constantly on the move, bait incomming attacks and strafe from them. For example I was running slightly increased effect of enfeeble+temp chains (auto curse with attacks/spells) and atlas passive that reduce mobs damage - this combo alone reduced rare/unq mob damage by almost 40% (normal/magic by 50%), and their action speed by 15/30%. This makes the game sooo much easier. Combine it with other def layers and you forget you can die in non-dangerous T16 maps. Also, if you utilize one def layer, you really want to complemnt it with mechanics that go well together. For example, if you stack evasion - it is good idea to also invest into blind (less chance to hit) and if you want to go defensively - enfeeble curse on hit (which reduces enemy accuracy thus increasing effect of your evasion). If only threads like these were typed as "I need help, can you guys teach/tell me what I'm doing wrong?" instead of "I need confirmation, can you please agree with me that it's the games fault?".
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Jun 7, 2023, 8:31:25 AM

" If only... but those threads don't seem to get as much traction. I see plenty of posts from people asking for advice that have no replies, or maybe one at best. Post like this one almost always guarantees someone will says "show us your character." Just an observation. |

" If the swimmer drowns it's the swimsuits fault, that's common sense. What are you even talking about? @OP Fix your lightning res, try getting at least positive chaos res, cap your spell suppression and also see if you can get a bit more evasion, 70-80% is pretty easy to get normally. Aiming for 4k life would also help. All that said, you do play Deadeye, that's one of the squishiest classes there is. Don't expect wonders in survivability... Being a bit more picky about what map mods you run can also go a long way. Monster damage is balanced around unrolled maps i.e no damage mods. The moment you start adding damage mods things get out of hand pretty quickly. Last edited by Baharoth15#0429 on Jun 7, 2023, 9:33:52 AM
