That's why the best strategy games are turn based. Or quite slow like Myth. You need time to make decision and place everybody in proper position
What a load of bull****, then why is Starcraft best strategy game out there?
As for OP, don't worry. After a while gameplay will become good enough but what you praised now you will see the holes in the system and that will not be as cool as you think now
Not everyone--Not even close to everyone thinks Starcraft is the "BEST" out there. It is certainly the most popular if you account for worldwide sales. But best? No. Not even. The best are the ones where you do have to do a mix of slow-patient-riding tactics and fast-faced tactics Starcraft and SC 2 have one speed online, fast. The economy and logistics of army movement aren't even close to complex. The game itself is more of form of chess, which isn't a bad things.
I'd say Stronghold is a better strategy game that Starcraft 1 and 2. Heroes of Might and Magic 1-3, and 6 are very strong. Definitely more. The Settlers was a very complex and fun game. And of course Age of Empires...actually, that was more like Starcraft, and was only slightly more complex due to the vast histories it covered and directly applied to the gameplay.

most ppl believe the best ones are e-sport worthy. end of story.
starcraft wouldn't last 15 yrs if it's not for the competitive scene before it transfers to sc2. no one would give a crap if it's not the most balance RTS out there.
i like all those other strategy games you list out there too...but those games you play it for like a month and then throw them into the recycle bin once you finish them. they have very little replay value and provide no competition to motivate you to become better at the game.

It takes one spoiled, ungrateful person to complain about a game they get to play for free, and do so on a public forum with no constructive advice whatsoever other than "be like Diablo 3." That's pretty insulting. Grow up.
I see that the white knight of the interwebs has come to the rescue of GGGs respect :)

Where did i say PoE sucks? Mind reminding me?
As i recall i said GGG now just sits on their butts. Which is true.
Umm...hmm there have been what 8 uniques, several skills, and a whole slew of fixes released just in the last 2 weeks. How is that sitting on their butts?
Obviously you have something in mind that YOU think they should be doing, but are just blanket calling them lazy without giving any feedback on what you would like them to be doing. PoE releases more patches and a lot more regularly than just about any game I know.
out of that 8 uniques 4 was made by diamonds...
Skills are Meh at most and no real content (at least for me).
Fixes? Fixes on stuff which should be very low priority.
Made by Diamond supporters....they don't make the art, they don't make the code, they don't make the engine. They suggest the stats of the item, flavor text, ect.
Seriously you don't want bug fixes? You have no clue as to what making a game is about and I challenge you to make your own if you think it's so easy. As I said all you are doing is complaining about the fact that you're bored with the game. Nowhere does it say that you must play this game and only this game forever to be a good game. If that is your definition you are going to be sadly disappointed for your entire life.
So quit your whining and offer some constructive feedback about this game that you don't pay for or just move on. No one here will stop you from playing something else. In fact I'll start by encouraging you too, diversity is the spice of life, give it a try.

I know it is very strange and scary, but there are people out there who don't like things you like

Best game does not mean everyone likes it, I didn't state that. But best can be measured by its popularity, complexity, fun factor and how hard it is. Starcraft 1 and 2 in RTS genre are huge phenomenon, no other RTS game comes close to its popularity, competitiveness and how long it survived. That all makes it the best game.
Your argument would be like stating golf is better sport then Soccer because it is slower, more complex and you like it more. I am sure Golf is a nice sport for the people that play it but no sane mane is going to argue that world wide Soccer is not better then Golf.

D3 is a best seller because of D2 and LoD. Especially LoD.
I also cannot understand how a game with TERRIBLE game play can be GREAT?

If they had "attack-move" when holding the mouse button, and animation cancelling after the hit frame of an attack, then the gameplay would be awesome.

Desync is not usually caused by the size or speed of the servers. Read the developer manifesto on desync and they go into detail exactly why desync is there. They are working on optimizing the code, but desync is inherent when you do server-side movement like PoE. The more you trust on the client the more you make hacks possible.
Uh this is not technically correct. If movement is server side, you don't get desync at all
Desync happens when you have movement that is client and server side, and those 2 states have to sync with eachother. Thats what PoE does
