Mage Skeletons (Dead Reckoning) with Sire of Shards, Nimis Ring and Snakepit Rings
|
I still insist to get a logical explanation from GGG about the staff with skeleton mages/archers. Also about the Astral Projector + Nova spells supported by spell cascade. It is a bug.

"I'm not entirely convinced OP actually shifted his Summon Skeletons into Sire to test. It should work with both Mages and Archers so long as the gem is socketed in the staff. It definitely works with other projectile minions such as Flame Golem. I may dig my staff up on Standard and test it myself later, if no one else chimes in on it to confirm or deny whether it works first. "This explanation from Mark_GGG is maybe a bit, uhhhh, dense to work through. But it's not a bug. It's a limitation of how the skill system works. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

" In lieu of a GGG explanation, here's my explanation: I just tested it, it works if the Summon Skeletons gem is in the staff. Exactly like the staff says. |
|
"Exactly what I suspected. OP didn't move his gem from chest to staff... :P I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

My question about Astral Projector + Spell cascade on any nova spell remains.
That explanation you linked has so weak logic I won't even comment it. xD? meh... |
|
"The linked comment if from GGG. But not only is it from GGG...it's from Mark, who is the guy when it comes to skills and the mechanics of the skill system. Doesn't change a thing whether his explanation is good enough for you or not though. There's no bug. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

" It's a bug because: there's the skill gem Summon Skeletons that would not be supported by GMP for example. You can even notice that visually - when you link them and that the gem doesn't glow with its supports. But then, when you support Skeleton Mages/Archers with GMP, etc., they actually fire increased number of projectiles. As you can see, this is an example of a skill that's altered by something (a jewel or an alternative quality of the gem itself) and because of that it is actually affected by other support gems which normally do not support that skill gem. I am sorry but I have all the proof that something is not working correctly. Either a simple tooltip or a whole game mechanic. With all the bugs I've seen in this game, the tooltips of different game features are the weakest spot of GGG and I am 100% sure of what I say because I can give numerous examples of such bugs. A wrong/incomplete tooltip is a bug. Entitling something as "intended" and not following a proper explanation is silly. The developer should not allow themselves to leave any non-intuitive/non-logical exceptions with the excuse that it would be too powerful or whatever. Something like this:

" I'm sorry, but...no, I can't see that. From what I can see, Summon Skeletons can be supported by GMP even without Skeleton Mages or Archers. Are you sure you weren't checking this with Raise Zombie or something else instead? Or maybe you already had GMP linked to the skill, so it was showing it couldn't be supported by a second copy of the same gem? ![]() |

And another one. Iron Grip:
