Does any one actually enjoy a slowed down PoE?
I feel that the current direction PoE is going for is to slowly pull the player base into thinking they enjoy
If it ain't against the rules, please vote on the poll link below. https://poll-maker.com/poll4767734x730f41E1-148 Personally, I have no problems with a slower ARPG, but if I wanted that, I wouldn't have picked up PoE. PoE is unique since it's one of the few top down ARPGs that is Fast, Explosive, Complex and Fun without having the pretentious combo style game play (Lost Ark / Last Epoch) that stemmed from Black Desert / Blade and Soul or the archaic crawl of everyone's favorite classic, Titan Quest or Diablo 2. If I want to crawl, I'd play Titan Quest, Grim Dawn or Diablo 2. But I want the current PoE. Dynasty Warriors culling of hundreds of mobs. Last bumped on Apr 9, 2023, 11:39:50 PM

Slower does not mean ruthless.
I would enjoy slower POE, just not ruthless level of slow. |

It's nowhere near the slow gameplay. PoE is very fast paced game, and it's becoming faster and faster (even with a ballista build (Ballisteris in my profile) I can clear strand map in ~45secconds, which is super fast for a totem build).
Oh and Diablo2 is NOT a slow game. It is very fast paced, some builds are extremely fast. Only first few acts are slower, but later you move at light speed there. Grim dawn I agree - it's slow paced. Last edited by gageris#1266 on Apr 4, 2023, 5:05:02 AM

Yes, people enjoy it, but Ruthless isn't primarily about making the game slower.
One of the problems with standard PoE is that there's no reason to pick up rare items, in a game which is meant to be about items, where rare items are potentially the best. Reducing drop rates and taking away the crafting bench (which slows down character progression) refocuses the game on id'ing stuff you find, instead of planning your whole item build before launch and buying or crafting what you need semi-deterministically, which guarantees that every time you use the same build you'll have a very similar progression. So ruthless is slower but its also less predictable and requires more strategy which means (for me) that reaching tier 5 white maps is more fun than reaching tier 16s in a standard mode. " Problem: Dropping rare items are so utterly useless and bad that it isn't even worth picking them up. Solution: Let's make the trash that nobody want's a rarity so that people come to appreciate the trash. That's some genius level logic there. |

Not me for sure, while I go at my own speed I strongly dislike companies that keep removing options from players. Forcing me to play on their ways only make me play less the game.
"Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."
Once you break the cycle of fear no angels or demons can whisper you their sweet nothing words. poe2 = ruthless 2.0 = bad. |

For me PoE feels like arcade game, Vampire Survivors, while ruthless mode is like aRPG, slower, tactical, engaging.
