Does any one actually enjoy a slowed down PoE?
I returned to PoE for Ruthless. I love the slower gameplay and tactical approach it offers. Feels less arcady and more like an ARPG to me.

I would only play ruthless if forced at gunpoint, but I don't mind the existence of that game mode. One of the things I like about PoE is that it provides options for players who enjoy vastly different playstyles.
It only becomes a problem if I'm forced to do content that I hate, like the early iterations of the labyrinth. You have to be realistic about these things.

I believe Ruthless is further out of touch than a slowed down poe. A good version would be Ruthless with movement skills but having a cooldown on all of them. This is to be used for dangerous encounters and jumping across gaps. Drop rates need to be slightly increased across the board. Low level uniques need to be increased in drop rate for first time Unique boss killing through campaign. This makes it so if u want to farm low level uniques it would require a new character every time. We all know the game doesn't start until maps so why make leveling so tedious?

" This hasn't made me quit ruthless after barely hitting t10 maps, i'm kinda used to digging through piles of trash in regular SSF. The scarcity of map drops did tho, it feels awfully boring - actually, i got more maps for further atlas progression from a couple city nodes in delve than from playing actual maps. As for completely disabling movement skills, dunno, personally i'd prefer having them there, with longer cooldowns if needed. Otherwise, going through the campaign in SSF+Ruthless felt really, really good. "Path of Exile's engine is currently modern, lean and fast." - Chris Wilson, September 19th, 2019

HC SSFR is good... it's not that slow but you can't zoom zoom.
This is the right sweetspot for ARPG. |

Me.
Not really considering the race event, though, because I haven't been too successful killing Exarch and Eater on normal SSF, let alone the Überversions. Bird lover of Wraeclast

problem is not slowing down the game
problem is 99% loots are TRASH over 6+ years we saying this but none devs give a duck about it slowdown the game but also remove being one shot from the game change loot system 2.0 less drops but smart or at least better stat items like u killing end game boss , drops tier 10 items instead high tiers or u dont even loots rares or even blues bcoz u know its all trash we just picking up high tier currency on the ground none picking up scrolls rares or blues over years game become CRAFTBENCH simulator game with arcade spaceshooting genre not ARPG anymore u was entering map 30 secs to clear whole screen fart blowaway |

I do enjoy slower paced ARPGs like D2, Grim Dawn and Titan Quest. But I don't think they are a slog by any means, PoE has just gotten so fast that we are used to the speed.
Just because I enjoy slower paced doesn't mean I want PoE to be that way, I think PoE has done a good job at finding its own pace and people seem to enjoy it. Ruthless is there for a more hardcore ARPG experience, I don't think it quite measures up to experiences you would get out of D2, GD, TQ though. If I were to ask for anything to be added to PoE, would be a crafting encyclopedia to be added in game, that tells you all of the games mechanics added over the years and how to go about crafting them. I know you can do this outside the game, but would be nice not having to leave the game all the time. |
