" Simplified projectile returning"?

Simplified projectile returning. Previously some effects that caused projectiles to return specified they only did so at the end of their flight, others only from a final target, and a few from either case. Now all effects that cause projectiles to return do so in any case that they can.

Most sources of Returning were Final-Target-Returning, making them useless vs single targets (and in most situations IMO). This sounds like they will make all Returning effects act as End-Of-Flight-Returning, which lets a piercing projectile hit a single target twice for double damage.

Changing all Returning to the useful kind, when there is the anoint Vengeant Cascade which currently gives attack projectiles a 100% chance of Final-Target-Returning...

There has to be a catch here right?

I mean yeah its not that uncommon for them to make something OP and then backtrack at the end of the league, but 100% more damage for projectile attack builds for a leauge feels bigger than most of those (or maybe I am just biased since this can effect my main build this time).

its just another forced meta change cus they refuse to properly balanced underperforming skills

When they try (often unsuccessfully) to rebalance under-performing skills they usually *say* that. They threw in the Returning changes like an afterthought (while the mechanic potentially effects around half of all skills if you include the Faster Projectiles alternate form that gives like 60% return chance to any projectile).
If you use sniper mark with any skill supported with barrage then is a 500% more damage so I hope this has a catch

They confirmed nimis it's not dead at least in the most simple interaction so if cascade is "consistent" it should work
