i'm sorry but there is no stopping POE.

You know there is a world where both games will exist. I don't trust Blizzard at all but perhaps they aren't trying to compete but to capture a different player base.

PoE is a complex game that doesn't do very much to teach new players how to play it. Some people just don't like that and would rather have a streamlined game like a Diablo 4 to just go in and not have to read a text book to figure out.

If Blizzard is serious about Diablo 4 and are willing to put in the work, they will exist just fine with PoE 2. That's a big "if" though.
Diablo 4 should have been made even more casual in order to compete with Candy Crush.

That is also why Kim Kardashian is worth more than a scientist/engineer because she makes more money.

yep, it's globalized capitalism

for any successful product, the odds are that you can find a better niche product that is better value and probably is better overall. not always, but odds are in your favor. but the downside is that you have to actively search for that product ignoring all the marketing and fanfare around it

diablo as an ip is just too big. no matter what happens, a diablo game will always rake in cash. so far, only art (not UI) designers and sound designers deserve accolades.
