Do you think d4 will have any impact on the ,,vision,, ?

I'd say when PoE 2 lands and we get it back to back with other arpg's on the market it will be clear what a arpg titan GGG is.
The more I see about D4 and LE these days the more I'm convinced in this. With all it's flaws, PoE is just on another level from the rest. Last edited by TorsteinTheFallen#1295 on Mar 8, 2023, 4:45:06 PM

" POE 2 looking to be the next gen AAA ARPG killer of all ARPG Right now POE is suffering from the polish you find with AAA titles, the god like animations you find with Blizzard games or the actual modern map design. POE is just a clone of D2 keeping all the nostalgic parts which a lot of people have come to find very boring,. This is why POE 2 needs to dump all the POE 1 campaign. Look how Awesome my MTX Marauder RF looks

It'll likely only give them a push to work some more on Poe 4.0 for a faster release.
D4 is prob going to be in the "spotlight" for a while. but thats pretty much with every release of a new game until people realize that it's just another watered down and rushed cash grab game. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

" GGG was never a titan. The titan is Blizzard, always has been, always will be. D3 has probably sold more copies than all other clones in the same time period. If PoE was a titan it would have hundreds of thousands of players each season, it doesn't. It would retain more players, it doesn't. PoE is a niche game in a fairly niche market, with only Diablo being a breakout star. No other clone has ever busted out like Diablo did. |

I'm ready for some D4.
All they need to do is give it more depth than D3, more depth in crafting items, more depth for end game, more depth in build variety. PoE I'm at my grind limit with this game. I'm fine with the game until end game mapping, and by that I mean sextant rolling your maps. At that point, the game becomes a chore. Games are made to have fun. No.
And I wouldn't have bothered with this thread had someone not quoted me for their own purposes without so much as asking. Not cool. I am not an authority on these matters and should not be cited as such. Being an alpha tester doesn't mean anything in and of itself. I was a volunteer moderator and part of that role was being invited to the alpha server as part perk, part test. All I ever really did was check for typos and give feedback on low level play experiences. As both became far less of a priority for GGG, I stopped doing even that. I'm far less excited about DIV than I was PoE beta, but that's because PoE WAS a direct response to everything DIII seemed to be getting wrong, as a post-WoW ARPG (ugh). DIV isn't really a response to anything but Blizzard's own spate of failures and desire to reclaim the ARPG throne, small and petty though it is in this age of fps and moba supremacy. More than happy to see how it lands. I think PoE drained me of all hype and zealous advocacy for any game...for life. It's a lesson I do not take for granted. I like what I like. That more than suffices. Speaking of, back to it. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

Yes, it will show how "the vision of hard" will withstand time and no money to pay the employees.
Even though D3 might not be were it should be at this point, I must admit for the past week or so I am having fun...Not feeling like I have to get to those divines to get a pair of gloves that might not end the way I want after 5 hours of craft of exile + hours of spamming alterations. Never invite Vorana, Last To Fall at a beer party. Last edited by Vendetta#0327 on Mar 9, 2023, 1:16:49 AM

I was absolutely convinced I was going to quit PoE because Lost Ark was about to be the juggernaut of the ARPG genre...
I'm not getting those kind of high hopes for D4. D4 will take a LOT of players from 1 league (potentially), which is probably why GGG offset the leagues by 1 month so they don't directly compete a league launch with D4 release. Next league is April-June, so they timed D4 launch with month 3 of league... when they already have low player count. I just HIGHLY doubt PoE is adding QoL stuff we want (auto loot currency, AH, etc) because they are betting on people quitting D4 a month into launch for a new league start in July. |
