Has anyone ever seen this ASMONGOLD reaction to POE 2 Trailer?

You've seen his other drama thread. This seems to be the case. He's adding nothing of value to this conversation, only drama.

In reality you fell for the trick of being a beta tester by testing POE 2 content in POE 1 which will ensure POE 2 is the only game that will ever launch perfectly smooth with no issues.

GGG would like to thank you for your continued support./

"Launch perfectly smooth with no issues". I don't even think he plays PoE with this statement. I can go in game and replicate at least a few dozen bugs that have been in the game for years. I get routinely stuck with leap slam in scenery. Sweep vanishes with too much attack speed and it's radius is bugged. Sometimes betrayal panel disappears after being clicked, sometimes it won't. Sirus still drags you immediately to one shot you.

After 5 aps, no animation in the world, doesn't matter how smooth, will make it look even remotely human like. And if you think they'll remove power creep to make that possible, god speed.

Yeah might have been baited a bit here., but in truth there isnt much offical PoE2 information.

They should really sticky a PoE2 mega thread & FAQ here soon. Maybe after Exilecon? I doubt they are going to do anything before the D4 launch anyways.

GGG has been on extreme stealth mode recently imo.

I mean, let's be real, I can totally see the pristine animations that are happening. The pristine ivory and cyan armour, the blood effect beautifully coming out of my wings and weapon, the swing of every Bladestorm, the enemies recoiling in fear as i run towards them with 100 of their friends soul consumed to fuel my every move.

I can pay to remove all those masterful effects coming out of my character, but why would anyone do that?

Yeah, I made a comment that landed in another thread which was meant for this one. I don't know how it went there and I didn't feel like resolving it, but this was the comment:

I don't think any of us can really speak authoritatively about POE2. Outside of the few things they've said about it, it feels pretty open ended. If I were to go off of the announcement footage it does look like a pretty different game, but teasers tend to play with camera angles and take liberties with gameplay situations to demonstrate new things. It's hard to say if that gameplay is how the actual game will be. If the teaser was an accurate portrayal of how gameplay will be for the game after release, it definitely looks like a big shift.

But none of us know enough about it to say, so arguing about it really feels premature.

Edit: Whoops, I think this was meant for the other thread. Not sure how it ended up in this one.

Until we actually have something to play, it's just too hard to say what it is and is not. The gameplay looked different enough that it felt like more than just your normal expansion but they've used different camera angles in almost every league teaser so who can tell if that's the final product or just a marketing tool.

There are obviously some things that are known like the merged endgame, etc. but what's being debated here goes well beyond the known stuff. It's almost worthless to debate as this point.
Thanks for all the fish!

As one wise forum user would put it, hoho.

His XIV vids were amusing. There is no way an old MMORPG streamer used to huge open worlds and plenty to do would bother with PoE as an actual game they'd stream. DIV is much more up his alley with its MMO/open world scope.

The only problem here, is that he has streamed PoE several times, but usually play it off stream. Asmongold is probably "too big" and too aware of views, clicks and revenue to play a niche ARPG, knowing that a huge MMO generates a lot more.

I don't watch much of his content, but did tune in to watch some D4 content he commented on, and his knowledge about PoE seems pretty deep.

On topic: While PoE and PoE 2 are more or less the same game when it comes to gameplay (with A LOT of new stuff), I think people are underestimating what improved graphics, new animations, new character templates and new physics can do to a game. I don't really know what's more cringe here, people calling it a completely new game, or people claiming it's only "a new story mode".

To me, PoE will always be about planning - and executing those plans. With several completely new base weapon types, double the amount of ascendancy classes, tons of new skills as well as all the graphical modernization, I'm pretty sure PoE 2 will give me just as many hours of joy as a completely new game would give me - and to me, that is all that matters.

in short, it's a gamer's game, not a spectator's game. He is not the first "big" streamer to enjoy PoE but not play it as one of their big ticket "shows" as it were. I don't think this is news.

We can comfortably disagree re poe2 (how to tell I am on my tablet and dont give a fuck about a thread or its baiting OP: I will call it poe2) in amicable silence and mutual anticipation. :)
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

Watching D4 gameplay for the past few days since more and more is being released, both D4 and PoE 4.0 are literal clones of each other, very similar looking, some clunky animations, and incredibly boring combat. I seriously hope end game mapping remains the way as it is now because I know I'm not the only one who didn't sign up to play some clunky isometric dark souls game.

"
Look at Last Epoch and Wolcen the character animations are like POE 1, pure garbage. Where as Diablo 3 looks pretty incredible how fluid your character operates./

And no way you're not trolling, PoE has pretty good animations while D3 has the worst animations I have ever seen in any video game to this day, it's so bad that I watched quin play D3 a few days ago after years of not seeing D3 and I couldn't stand watching those terrible animations, I almost forgot how clunky D3 is, if nothing else it seems D4 is continuing on that lol. I unfortunately see this trend of clunky animations in some other games too like LoL, it baffles me how these developers were able to make much more fluid and better feeling animations 10-15 years ago as indie devs than they are capable of doing now with all the resources they have + the advanced technologies available.

What in the world?

D3's combat, optimization, animations, and visual clarity are light years beyond anything in PoE. The smoothness in D3, especially in melee combat, is tangibly different.

Hell I'd argue PoE is one of the worst arpg games I have ever played form a visual clarity standpoint & combat feel, and its optimization is subpar at best. There isnt much that I would describe as smooth in PoE tbh. In fact it's often a total clusterfuck lol.

I really don't have anything to say to someone unironically claiming D3 has good visual clarity, yeah, a game with flashy explosion vomit and constant number spam jumping out of mobs every time you do something is great visual clarity, D3 might be the single worst ARPG ever in quite literally every aspect, I can't think of one thing in D3 that doesn't suck.

then dont say anything at all

i dont like d3 for a variety of reasons, but you cannot deny when it comes to telegraphing, d3 can have MUCH more visual clarity than poe.

how big is the phoenix nova? no idea lol just gtfo of the way right?

how big is baran's slam? big. but how big? lol no idea.

lets say you are a smart ass saying "oh you can learn over time and get used to it" ok, how big isit when theres a map mod where it gives increased aoe. do you know now?

no you dont. even if you do, then i m assuming youre one of the top 0.001 % of players that have a super in depth understanding of the game. then your voice doesnt represent most of the community.

as much as i dislike d3, i cannot deny, i can SEE where the damage areas are. i know exactly where i need to run to to be safe.

sure the mortars mod in d3 can be a shitshow, but at least i see it.

poe? visual clarity?

i love/hate poe a lot and i really hate how we dont have a "tactical mode" option where we can just have "ugly circles/rectangles" showing where the damage areas are.

u know uber sirus? as a melee there are times i got caught off guard when he summoned a huge as void area RIGHT BELOW MY FEET.

so yeah, you can shit on d3 for crappy graphics and animation, but clarity wise, d3 is much better than poe.
