The saddest of misguided/missed goals of PoE
" who says they think otherwise? " whos asking you to bow to anything? its just a game, its a loot based game and part of a loot based game is that when you play theres exciting loot that can drop. loot isnt exciting if its something you have found a bunch of times before. theyre just trying to keep the game feeling fun. ive got mirrors and mirrored gear in standard, when a divine orb drops im whatever about it, im not even hyped. the economy is dead right now in standard, the population is really low at this point, yet i started playing again there about 2 weeks ago and ive made over 700 divines and 1000s upon 1000s upon 1000s of chaos orbs. im probably making 30-50 raw divines in an average day along with a few 1000 chaos, i could not play the game and still make that, i can just stand in a hideout without actually playing the game at all and make that amount of money passively from a dead economy. so when 1 divine orb drops on the ground.... meh. meh, it barely even registers. thats sad, thats a bad thing, whats good is that a mageblood card might drop, a mirror might drop, a fracturing orb, a kalandra ring, if those things were not in the game then there would be no point in me playing the game any more. chris isnt asking me to bow down to him, the devs are just recognise a loot based game is built around an incentive to play generated by having loot you want to find. theyre giving us that, its not a bad thing, its great. " yeah i agree with this tbh. im still a fan of ggg simply implementing the trade bots some people have already been using. when im logged into the game theres a trade bot in my hideout that will respond to fix price item trades and make the trade with someone. maybe we put a minimum and maximum price a bot can deal with to set a floor that doesnt = the economy is just flooded with 1 chaos items and a ceiling where important big ticket trades are still a player to player interaction. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" Sure, I said on the first page that I didn't have many bad experiences with the human side of trading, but the system is still ass. And I don't agree with Chris that any form of automated trading would ruin the economy, if executed well it could be an improvement for everyone involved, including GGG, because they could sell subtle QoL trade improvements. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

those first 2 points were gonna have to disagree, i dont think ruthless is them no appreciating spare time, its an optional challenge mode, i love ruthless. them balancing the game, i think theyre honestly just trying to make the game as good as it can be. people are gonna have different preferences, we obviously disagree on this for example, thats fine everyone has their opinion.
i cant see what u responded to the last point because a mod has deleted it, i didnt get to see it before it was edited out unfortunately. but what uve quoted, it is sad when what should be hype drops stop having meaning. you must understand that, you have mirrored gear, you must have a ton of currency, you really get hyped when a divine drops still? its nothing compared to what u must have from trading surely? what are you playing for? maybe u still get a buzz from a divine dropping, maybe im wrong, but i dont and i suspect you dont. you ran that boss a ton for that item, maybe the idea that you could find exactly the thing u wanted from that boss was miscalculated. but you played the game, there was something you wanted and by your own admission you must have found a lot of stuff because u said u could buy the thing in trade with the currency u made. if really rare items like that didnt exist would you just be playing now for divine drops? i feel like you could just make divines sitting in your hideout if u really wanted them. you rly wanna play all day for that 1 or 2 divines that drop in a days play? if there was no mageblood or kalandra ring out there? for me at least an arpg loses its soul when you dont feel like theres something exciting that can drop.
