melee weapons VASTLY harder to craft than casters......
hello, no bullet points or anything just explaining the logic behind the argument.
please consider reading. all i am going to say is please clear the prefixes of melee weapons a little bit. the chances of getting double t1 for example is so low it's actually in the realm of MANY MIRRORS to do so. for example you can use craft of exile to see the odds. the odds of getting double t1 "which means the item is not even fully crafted yet" is averaged around 20 mirrors MINIMUM using fossils THAT'S MINIMUM 18 mirrors for a 2 mods item, that's like if we were to try to even attempt crafting an influenced top tier weapon it would be in the realm of 100+ mirrors ?.......... EVEN assuming you can do "mirror services" and take a 30 divine fee for such an item you won't cover your crafting costs in 2 leagues of mirroring. and that does not even include the fact that most of the player base don't even WANT to buy melee weapons at that cost range. and then you might say "you don't have to do double t1" well tough luck even double t2 would cost you 1.5 to 2 mirror on average, why is this even a thing ? and what's funny is that 1 tier lower for melee can be from 3% to 10% of the total weapon power while the spell damage roll for casters does not even make a dent to their total character dps. meanwhile casters can get most of the weapons power by just getting the "gem levels" and craft spell damage + as extra chaos or some shit and can actually this is a bit off topic, but ! i don't get why are melee's being pushed into a corner in every single aspect of the game. crafting, positioning, boss fighting, even GEM SOCKETS are harder for melee to manage because of how you need more defensive setups, warcries, 3 sockets for totems, 9000 reservation skill........ just why lol i know i am a little off here and there but i know that the difference in the power you can get from your rare weapon compared to the investment required between melees and most non-melees is just stupid. solution: just clear some of the mods, there is no reason for phys melees weapons to have the lowest chances on higher rolls while also having this stupid chance to get leeched as life and leeched as mama in the prefixes .... edit: let me clarify the intent of this post. this is not a post about "casters need nerf" this is about how the game offers many deterministic ways to craft all types of weapons making everyone's life easier. except for melee physical weapons. and that's because all melee mods share the exact saem tags as well as having a MUCH LOWER weight to get high tiers. you can look the numbers on poedb for weights and tags if you are unaware of it. edit: i am constantly watching for the active market and the number of best base weapons with maxed prefixes "not even good suffixes" triple t1 prefixes "not including essence" total of zero exquisite blades total of zero pile driver total of two karui maul "not that anyone would use those" total of zero despot axe total of zero warstaves double t1 and 1 t2 prefixes around 20 weapons total of best bases. They know how difficult it is, it's what they want. Perhaps they will do a look over before they reach the new base with the release of poe2. Game is still transitioning, I think.

The people who actually craft these things are much better crafters than you. No one is crafting in such a way where the 2 T1 prefixes cost them 20 mirrors.

They are making crafting harder every league for everyone.
They removed keep suf / pref crafts in 3.19. But that's not the only thing they did. They introduced some garbage modifiers like "gain X life per enemy killed". These mods are so bad, even t1 mod is weaker than a small passive node near shadow area that provides 15 life and mana. For 1 passive points. It's not even a notable. |

Low to Mid range attack weapons yea. High end, they're all the same.

" Melee does suck. The numbers in the 10 latest leagues do not lie. I actually want to see a list of Uber/wave 30/100% Deli-beating builds since the introduction of those mechanics. It would be an interesting view. Sure, there will be some melee builds on there, but how many compared to the rest? How many spell skills, how many bow skills, how many melee skills. When every other melee build you see, is either str stacking or dex stacking, you know that weapon scaling (90%(?) of melee builds) is in a bad state. You can climb Kilimanjaro in sandals. Doesn't mean sandals is a good choice. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Spell wands are easier to craft on the low end but thats pretty much it. +2 wands with crit, crit multi and cast speed are just as hard as comparable melee weapons. Spells have the upside of having most of their power baked into the gem allowing them to go far even with a trash wand while melee needs decent weapons to do so however, melee has strong unique options available making it possible to achieve tens of millions of dps with a 3 div weapon where spells have to bury dozens of divines to craft or buy wands and amulets with all the stats they need. It all comes down to making a choice and playing it to its strenghts. Sadly most people are too stupid to think for themselves and utterly fail at that. Instead they get obsessed with poe ninja numbers and cry in forums.
