This game still makes no sense to me no matter how long i play

So i can face tank sirus die beams, eat shaper slams, tank warlord slam, run feared deathless etc

why would you expect it to make more sense?
There's a bunch of nonsense in the game; increasing the amount of time you play doesn't change that the nonsense is there. It's always going to remain there. |

I've seen it memed before that nobody really knows how this boss works. My best guestimate based on my own dying to the boss is that the beams on top of being a DoT itself also apply some big lingering DoT that is hard to get rid of.
