I have yet to complete a full sanctum...

Sure, you don't need to stay still to deal damage. I take almost 0 resolve damage as a Cyclone, the mechanics should be fairly similar. Plus RF does not reduce your movement speed.

maybe you just 1 shot everything
RF is only slightly better than melee when it comes to sanctum.

anyway i stopped trying with that build weeks ago. i play a ranged char now thats why its so depressing that i still cant do it

I don't know what you consider "1 shot". This is my usual Sanctum clear speed. Obviously I hit guards multiple times

I can play this char with totems only if I have to, so I probably won't have a problem clearing it. However, the gameplay is honestly crap, I keep tossing totems in front and if they activate I wait until the thing they saw is dead, because it makes no sense to run ahead myself and get clapped by something I never saw coming, the whole thing is about as fun as it sounds.

Reminded me of killing black orcs in rage of mages back in the day. You toss a poison cloud as soon as you see a black pixel poking out of the screen edge, and run away because you die if they even catch a glimpse of you. It's worth the trouble but I wouldn't exactly call it engaging.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Much like the rest of the game once you hit a DPS threshold nothing matters.

When I did Sanctums while leveling, that felt skill based.
End-game is DPS / Build / Relics / RNG / Skill with skill being last on the list.

By day 8 in the league I hit 10mil and was off-screening most things.
I got bored quick and stopped playing. Map spam to engage with the league, just no.
Only being able to save 8 at a time just amplified the obnoxious nature of the league.

DON'T run them at lvl 83 if you can't finish a single sanctum.

Do yellow sanctums instead so you get some good relics. Once you have a few relics that either give max resolve or inspiration on receiving affliction, it'll be impossible to fail sanctum runs (unless its a special challenge run)

i m playing non meta viperstrike 2handed. my pob dps is barely 1.5 million and i m not even at 4k life.

i've killed lycia before.

what i learned:

1. relics are ultra important. when you first start out, the relics you have are dogshit and you might have limited relic slots. to remedy this, simply keep attempting sanctum more.

2. EXPECT TO LOSE A LOT. while you have shit relics, you cant expect to do well, also you might have limited relic slots. you're expected to slowly progress and become better. also some runs are just bad RNG where you're forced to pick bullshit afflictions.

3. movespeed is of utmost importance. in sanctum you're expected to GTFO of the way. any afflictions that make you slower or enemies faster, should be avoided like the plague unless you're really certain of your skills.

4. even if you get hit with bad afflictions, if your relic setup is still subpar, keep pushing forward. with luck you might drop a relic. if you already have a good relic setup, abandon sanctums that you think are doomed (the afflictions are so bad it's likely to end in failure)

5. DPS is king, the faster you kill enemies, the less chance you take damage from them. glass canon builds are rewarded while tanks have no inherent bonuses in sanctum as you're not meant to get hit in the first place.

6. do lower tiered sanctums. to gauge which sanctums tier you can do, use the guards as a benchmark. you need to kill each guard within 5-15 seconds. if you take longer than that, it means your dps is not enough to handle that tier. once your dps is high enough always run a minimum of t14s as those can drop sanctified relics and more valuable rewards.

7. dont be greedy. the pacts sometimes provide boons at the cost of gaining afflictions. NEVER pick anything with a random affliction. it could turn a very good run to a shit one real fast.

8. merchants are your friend. save up aerius coins. for floor 1-2, always prioritize coin rewards over currency. floor 3 you still should prioritize coins unless theres a very valuable currency reward being offered. by floor 4 coins are no longer valuable and should have been spent up.

9. buying boons from merchants is good but dont be too greedy. if you can survive without some of the boons, you should keep the coins and try another merchant. merchants sometimes sell relics and even sanctified relics. if you have only 400 coins, it can be a good idea to choose rooms with more coin rewards rather than visiting a merchant. relics usually are priced at 600 coins. going to a merchant and not having enough is a feelsbad moment.

10. learn all the rooms you need to avoid. technically the 4 hardest rooms are where you fight guards while a firebeam is shot at you. refer a cheatsheet if you have to

11. PLAN your next few rooms. there are a lot of "traps", for example a room can have a valuable currency reward but may have only one room option as the next option and that room could have a run ending affliction. sometimes you're forced to forego valuable rooms/rewards but its better to forego such rooms if the subsequent rooms are so damn harsh.

12. watch you tube guides if you have to. the ball traps are scary AF but if you keep calm, non will hit you. if you're having a hard time with the ball traps, get faster movespeed. if you absolutely suck at dodging. then just try your best to dash past the offending areas as much as possible.

not sure it was said but lower level sanctum will still unlock slots in your relic box. so you can use more relic. worth to complete in lower tiers.
It also doesn't help that some mobs do 200+ resolve in a single hit. Honestly ggg needs to stop equating hard with good and hard with tedious.

Unless they actually nerf high end builds, the majority of the playerbase will be done in two months of the league.

Hopefully sanctum gets better for you.
