everyone should be able to complete it with a totem build. come on. also if it was a skill issue wouldnt i have troubles on the first 3 floors as well? my character is lvl 98 and over leveled/geared

Nah. Each Sanctum is separate for each character.

Your character you have problems with has likely a bad combination of afflictions by the time he reaches floor 4. Make a screenshot of all boons/afflictions maybe next time before you attempt your last room so we can see where the problem is.

Get better relics, like:

max resolve on using fountains/killing bosses.
+ Inspiration on getting an affliction.
As an extra. Double coin chance on chests so you can buy more boons early into the runs.
Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks

i tried with 2 characters and neither can do it. i think its very strange. especially that a totem build cant avoid not getting hit. i am never near the guards. i'll take a screenshot next time
Here is my relic setup

They never get me down to my actual resolve but I like being completely safe from failure. In this way I not only have both high inspiration and resolve but also enough money to hit every fountain and buy every item I want, even if there are coin afflictions.

relic drops are rng right? nothing i can do about it...after all this playtime i still dont have any good ones
Sure, but these are fairly common rolls. Inspiration is something you can start gaining fairly early - the most common relics have it. The only mod which is hard to get is "inspiration when you receive an affliction". I've only gotten one relic with it.

This is like 5 layers of rubber safe.

Ye it's hard to fail a sanctum run with a setup like this. If you cannot run out of inspiration then you can freely take any boons that reduce your resolve by a percentage. 50% maximum resolve? Phew. I had runs where my maximum resolve reached 1 point (without effects that actually put it at 1 straight-up)

But once you get comfortable with sanctum and its mechanics (and your build dps lol) you can replace most of these with "additional rooms are revealed on a sanctum map". These relics aren't actually per sanctum, it's per floor. They roll up to 2 per relic and they are 2-slotters.

I run mine with just 1 "inspiration on affliction" relic and the rest are those room reveal relics. They're not even 2-roomers, well not all of them. I still can reveal almost half of the damn floor straight-up. Very helpful if you want to know where divines are and to path to them.
if being able to complete the sanctum is soooo dependent on these relics then we should be able to buy them from the trade site. relying on PNG feels so bad. did they give a reason why we cant buy relics? almost feels like playing "SSF". if i wanted to play SSF then i would choose that

In games like this you first play the content that you can handle, that content gives you the gear (directly or indirectly) to play harder content. When you reach the hardest content that gives you the gear that enables you to farm the highest content effortlessly, which is the main goal. You don't prepare for juiced top maps and ultimate bosses by farming A10 crypt, you probably could do it there one tiny chaos orb at a time but it would be a pain, even in trade league there's a certain content progression.

Sanctum seems to be designed to follow the same pattern, if you got no relics it's a pain in the ass, but you go up bit by bit and with crazy relics you're supposed to be able to farm it easily.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

feels like forced SSF to me. probably to slow down the people who plays 12 hours/day. while some of us cant even complete it ONCE because of the RNG of the relics.. to me this is unacceptable.

also i never seen divines in sanctum. surely they dont just appear in the final few rooms of the 4th floor?

that is correct, divines are in 4th floor. Seen them from floor 3 boss once, then many at floor 4.
